April 8, 2018Baekhyun just stared at the stranger, at this, Park Chanyeol.
He was so tall, too tall. And it made Baekhyun feel small and insignificant by comparison. He hated it.
He straightened his back and squared his shoulders, aiming to look taller than he actually was, for he couldn't have this overly messy man looking down at him. Baekhyun cleared his throat and said, "Well then, Park Chanyeol, I say we just forget what happened and go on living our lives exactly the way they were twenty or so minutes ago."
Baekhyun watched as an unreadable emotion passed over Chanyeol's face, before he replied, "Then that would mean, twenty minutes ago, we never would have met."
Baekhyun beamed brightly and clapped as he cried, "Exactly! Now you're getting it, but before I go and forget all about you, please, next time find a different seat. Okay then, bye!"
And with that, Baekhyun grabbed his coffee and left the shop, the little bell dinging as he did. He walked away blissfully from the coffee shop, his mind already beginning to forget about that messy haired giant.
Don't think of him as cruel or cold-hearted, Byun Baekhyun just simply didn't care for meeting new people and forming bonds, because it seemed every time he did, something would happen to tear that person away forever. So Baekhyun just didn't get involved, and he most certainly didn't date.
He was still close enough to the coffee shop to hear when the door chimed open once again, and he didn't bother looking - although maybe he should have, because suddenly someone stood behind him and softly muttered, "Why are you being such a stuck up asshole?"
Baekhyun jumped, and in his startled state, his coffee flew from his hand and broke open all over the sidewalk. He managed to jump out of the way before he could get splashed.
He instantly spun around, his eyes burning and drilling holes into Park Chanyeol as he yelled, "What the hell is wrong with you!? Are you psychotic? Leave me the fuck alone! And I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure I made myself perfectly clear when I said, I wanted to go back to my life when I didn't know you!"
Chanyeol just smirked and reached a hand out, trailing it along Baekhyun's cheek before saying, "You look very hot when you're mad. Go out with me?"
Baekhyun's eyes widened and he had been preparing to smack Chanyeol's hand away, but now his hand had been frozen in midair by Chanyeol's words. He stared at him in much of the same way someone would stare at a person who just took a shit in a public park.
"D-did you just . . . What the hell!? Are you insane!? I just got done telling you - twice now - to leave me alone! And now you're asking me out!? You're completely and utterly psychotic!" And then Baekhyun smacked away Chanyeol's hand, calming down only slightly as he continued on by saying, "And besides, I don't date and I'm not going to start now."
Chanyeol pursed his lips and tapped his chin for a moment, thinking before he said, "Alright then, how about I just give you my number and you can think about it, and if you really don't feel like going out on one date with me, then I won't take it to heart. But you should give me a chance, because I don't disappoint," Chanyeol said with a wink as he slipped a business card into Baekhyun's hand.
"I look forward to hearing from you," he called out as he walked away.
And as he did, Baekhyun noticed the guitar slung over his back, and Baekhyun hated to admit it, but he looked super hot with that guitar slung over his shoulder.
--
Later that night, while Baekhyun laid in his bed unable to sleep, for the first time in forever, someone had managed to shake his perfectly constructed world. And he knew there was only one solution, he had to see Park Chanyeol again. He had to see him so he could forget him. And it would be a cleanse that he surely hated to admit he would enjoy.
