Chapter 10

                Alex's P. O. V

I woke up, 5 minutes before we got to our motel, Jinx was asleep with her head resting on my legs "Where are we?" I asked, sitting up careful not to wake the sleeping Jinx "California" Dean answered "we're not too far from the motel" Sam said, just then Jinx started to wake up "I slept the whole way" I asked kinda shocked I had slept for so long "Yeah, you didn't even wake up when we changed seats" Dean said pulling into the motel parking lot, "Girls, go check us in" Dean said pulling a card out of his wallet, going to the trunk to get our bags.

                    *Time skip*
"That asshole wouldn't let us book a room because I'm not 18 and Jinx doesn't look it!" I said handing Dean the card back, "wait here" he said, taking it back and walking to the door, after a bit, I got bored and decided to text Cole
(A) "Hey, we made it to L.A. in one piece"
(C) "Good!! I have a question"
(A) "Shoot"
(C) "How the hell do you sleep with 5 dogs in your bed?!"
(A) "Comfortably"
(A)" But most of the time two of the big dogs will be in my bed and two will be in Jinx's bed and Cap usually sleeps in his box"
(C) "Oh, I was comfortable until Bruce decided to lay on my legs. You mean the box by your bed that I finally found him in after two and a half hours of looking for him"
(A) "That would be the one, he loves that thing"
(C) "I can tell"
(A) "He's in it right now isn't he?"
(C) "Yep"
(C) "Question"
(A) "Answer"
(C) "What is his box made out of?"
(A) "A cardboard box glued inside another cardboard box to make the walls thicker, wrapped in an old blanket that no one ever used, with a zipper on the back so I can wash it, and a dog bed sewed to the blanket, with a hole cut in a corner where he can go in and out"
(C) "Creative much?"
(A) "Jinx made it, I supervised"
(C) "Wow!"
(A) "Yeah, she put a lot of time and patience in it"
(C) "do the other dogs have beds?"
(A) "Yeah but they don't use them, they take them and they hide them"
(C) "And now you can't find them"
(A) "Yeah actually,  we've looked everywhere and can't find them anywhere"
Finally, Dean came back out handing Sam and Jinx a key "room 13, don't lose the key" he said looking towards me and Jinx.

                     Jinx's P. O. V

Once we got into our room and got everything put away Sam and Dean left to go get food. "Do you think Dean would let me have a cat?" Alex randomly asked "doubt it" I answered looking up from my phone "killjoy," she said sitting up from her spot on a bed, picking up her bag "Plus I thought Dean was allergic to cats?" I asked "he is" she answered digging around in her bag "then why do you want one?!" I asked looking at her like she's crazy "because I like cats!!" She said starting to sound annoyed but somehow I knew it wasn't because of me "SON OF A BITCH!!" She suddenly yelled throwing her bag down "what?" I asked startled by her sudden outburst "I left my contacts and glasses at home" she said flopping back down on the bed "oh, call Dean and ask if he can get you some" I suggested "oh that's a good idea" Alex said picking up her phone calling her father putting him on speaker.
                   *Phone call*
(D) "Hello"
(A) "I need contacts"
(D) "I just got you some"
(A) "I forgot them at home"
(D) "What about the ones you have in now"
(A) "then should've been taken out last night and thrown away"
(D) "Alright, I'll get you some"
(A) "preferably air Optix night and day"
(D) "K"
(A) "oh hey I need eye makeup remover too"
(D) "did you forget that too?"
(A) "no, I'm completely out"
(D) "does J need anything?"
(J) "it's Jinx and no I'm good thanks"
(D) "ok we'll be back as soon as we're done getting Alex's stuff"
(A) "ok thanks, Dad" and with that Alex hung up the phone

                  Dean's P. O. V
"She's called me dad twice in the last two days Sammy," I told Sam, shocked she had started so soon "is there something wrong with that? I mean you are her father" Sam said looking up from his phone "No nothing's wrong with it, it just feels different but not in a bad way" I said looking over at Sam then back at the road "When she said Daddy for the first time I wanted to punch Dad because I should've been the one holding her when she said it, and now that she is calling me dad I'm proud but I feel a bit...... Awkward, don't get me wrong I love it but it's gonna take some time to get used to" I said hitting the steering wheel out of frustration, thinking about her calling the wrong person her Daddy "for the record her first word was Dean, it came out sounding like bean but we all knew what she meant" Sam said smiling remembering that day "that was cute" I said smiling, pulling into a Walmart that was about 10 minutes away from the motel. After about 20 minutes I found what I needed, paid, and left, getting back to the car I found Sam in the driver's seat "what the hell do you think you're doing?" I asked putting the bag in the back seat "I'm driving" Sam answered, standing on the passenger side I finally gave in giving him the keys. Once we got back the girls were sitting at the table probably talking about Marvel or Batman, something like that, setting the pizza in front of them and handing Alex the bag of stuff, she thanked me going to the bathroom to take her contacts out and take her mascara and eyeliner crap off "How about you explain what we think we're after, Sammy" I said, sitting in the chair Alex got out of
"Ok so according to this missing person report Alexander Black went missing then a week later was found dead in a cave half-eaten," Sam said reading the missing persons report to the girls "Sounds kinda like a wendigo," Alex said as she sat down in the floor in front of me handing me her hairbrush "that's what we thought until we read on and seen that his heart was missing too," Sam said looking up from the files he had printed off before we left Bobby's "That sounds like a werewolf," Jinx said "Exactly!" Sam said pointing at her "so it's a werewolf?" Alex asked "not 100% sure, that's why you two are going to stay here and do research while Dean and I go talk to the Vic's loved ones and the police officers who have seen the VIC" Sam answered putting the files down on the table "good luck," he said walking to his bag getting out a suit, doing the same myself after many failed attempts to braid Alex's hair.

                    *Time skip*
                    Sam's P. O. V
After Dean and I changed we were ready to go when Alex came over to us hugging our necks, telling us to be careful "quick question" Jinx said before we left "Yes?" I asked walking over to where she was sitting "this says that Wendigos are rarely seen outside of Minnesota or the north of Michigan so why would one be here in California?" Jinx asked as I read what she had just told us "well that narrows it down some" I said looking up at Dean "Good catch Jinx!" Dean said giving her a thumbs up telling them both to keep digging giving them Dad's journal.

                   *Time skip*
                   Alex's P. O. V
"Oh my god! I found something that fits the thingy!!" I said excitedly causing Jinx to jump at my sudden outburst "what is it?!" She asked sounding kind of excited "They eat the heart, although they do sometimes eat more of the body" I read picking up my phone to call Dean putting it on speaker.

                  *Phone Call*
(A) "Dad I think I found something!"
(D) "Give me a sec"
(D) "Ok spill, you're on speaker"
(A) "Ok so I looked up the Werewolves after you guys left and according to the lore they eat the heart, but they do sometimes eat more of the body"
(S) "Great job Alex, the officer we spoke to said there was another person missing by the name of Molly Holmes but they haven't found her yet, they gave us the location Alexander was found and ask us to go look"
(D) "We're on our way to pick you up so load your guns with the silver bullets that are in the box on your bed, oh and make sure your hair is on top of your heads so they can't grab you as easily, and put your boots on, you're going on your first hunt Alex" hanging up the phone Jinx and I started squealing out of excitement "Oh my god I'm going on my first  hunt!!" I said jumping up and down, after our little fangirl moment we decided to put our combat boots on like Dean had told us to do, putting our rather long hair up in messy buns, loading our guns with the silver bullets on our bed, Sam and Dean got there right as I was putting my contacts in so I'd actually be able to shoot and hit something "Ok crash course on silver bullets" Dean said as I walked out of the bathroom, blinking a couple of times getting used to having contacts in again "Use them wisely, they are hard to make, do not shoot unless you're confident about hitting what you're shooting at, the only way to kill a werewolf is to shoot it in the heart with a silver bullet. Good luck and be careful" Dean said as we got into the car heading to find the so-called werewolf.
