*Anna's POV*
Today has been boring as usual, but not the basic boring. People actually paid attention to me. There were nosy people asking questions about Sam and Emily.
Everyone here is really fake. Nobody ever wanted to talk to Emily before she disappeared and now that she's gone, they want to ask her only friend.
It's just sad how fake people are. I did Emily a big favor by getting her out of this hell hole.
"Hey Anna wait up!" I turn around to see Zara running towards me.
"Oh hey Zara what's up?" She takes a moment to catch her breath before responding.
"Um nothing really. I was just wondering if you wanted to hang."
"Oh sure." Cool.
"We can go to the park."
"Sure, let's go." I like her, it's refreshing to have a new friend.
When we finally reach the park, we get ice cream and cotton candy from the stands.
"One of the many reasons I like this park." Zara says this as she takes a huge bite of her cotton candy. We both laugh. It's been a while since I've had a genuine laugh, it feels great.
We continue to walk and talk. We discuss childhood memories, our pet peeves, favorite foods, and really anything that comes to mind. I suddenly notice that we are heading towards where Ethan die- where I murdered him by accident(i guess). I mentally chuckle.
"Oh, I think we should turn back. It's getting dark Zara."
"The Anna is scared of the dark. Oh my!" She playfully laughs.
"I'm not, come on Zara. We should go." I do not want to see my boyfriend's corpse right now.
She taps me suddenly and says, "Tag, you're it."
You've got to be kidding me!
"Zara! Wait up!" I run after her. I can hear her footsteps ahead. I hate running, honestly. I should've told her that pet peeve.
Zara continues to run. All of a sudden, she falls to the ground.
"Zara! Are you o-" She screams in horror. I finally catch up and she is sitting there crying while staring at Ethan's limp body. I'm tired of all the shedding of tears today. It's about time I get an Academy Award.
"Omg. I-is that Ethan? I can't believe this. We need to call the police." I cry like my life depends on it. Zara then pulls out her phone to call the police.
"Hello 911, I would like to report a dead body...There is no pulse...Mhm..We are in Pike Park, come soon." She hangs up and sighs deeply.
I sniffle and wipe my tears. Zara hugs me and comforts me. She is so nice, just a matter of time until she wants to befriend Amber.
*time passes*
The police finally arrive with ambulances. The paramedics carry Ethan away in a body bag and toss him in the back of the ambulance. An officer then leads Zara and I into the back seat of her car. She informs us that another officer will come by to question us tomorrow. The officer then asks us for our address so she can drop us off. I better prepare for questioning.
When the officer reaches my house after a long and silent car drive with sniffling on the side, I get out of the car and walk up up the mini stairwell to my front door. I turn back to wave goodbye, Zara waves back and the car pulls away.
When the car is out of sight, I roll my eyes and ponder on my how I will reply to the interrogator.
This is getting messy, but the coroner would probably rule this as an accident. I need to be more discreet in the future.
So much for a fresh start.
