Alexander had been avoiding Jefferson like the plague sense he spoke with Madison. Not wanting to give Madison the thought he was watching him or anything of the sorts, its been two days so Madison has until tomorrow's lunch to tell Jefferson of his betrayal. Thanks to Lafayette he knew of Jefferson knew or not cause Lafayette is friends with Jefferson, at trusted one at that. So they could depend on Jefferson telling him.
Alexander has been careful going into empty hallways or rooms not wanting to walk in on another word scene with Madison and Charles Lee for he is sure they are still together. Though one thing rung in Alexander's mind that drove him nuts.
I can't stop, I have feelings for both Charles and Thomas.
The words of Madison danced in his head like fly's over rioting fruit. {Shouldn't have strayed then} he thought cause yes Alexander did cheat but he never loved Mariah, as sick and twisted as it was he thought of Mariah more as a stress relief, at least he used to. Now he sees her as the damn succubus that seduced him into an affair but he also blamed himself greatly maybe even more so than Mariah.
He was in his desk...fiddling with the ring Eliza left behind..it was cold agents his skin and was a sign of his mistakes and if he thought to hard on it the coldness started feel like acid on his skin. He tried not to think too hard. He sighed and placed the ring back down when the door opened without warning and Alexander grimaced at who it was.
“Hamilton” the southern drawl was curt and unwavering as he made eye contact with the man.
“What do you want Jefferson?” He growled back and the taller man seemed to smirk at the treasury secretary's annoyance.
“Just the document I left on your desk yesterday.” He said promptly as he leaned on the door frame.
“It was shit but most of it was..acceptable so here” he pulls it from a caniant and held it out for the man, the virginain sighed as he saw he would have to walk deeper into the lion's den. As he walked up and took the document he seemed to eye over Alexander's cluttered desk but stopped at a particular object.
“Is that a wedding ring?” he raised a brow as it was a nice, simple one. Silver with three beautiful sparkling jewels adorned it and fit was clearly a women's sense it was smaller than Alexander's finger and more delicate than anything the man would wear.
“Get out Jefferson” he growled and his curiosity only grew and the smaller males annoyance only feed the taller ones smugness.
“Awww did Hamilton get turned down?” he snickered but it quickly left as Alexander looked up with a dangerous glint in his light chocolate brown eyes.
“Its fucking Eliza’s now GET OUT” a wave of guilt washed over Jefferson as he just nodded and left with the document safely tucked under his arm.
Alexander glared daggers until the door was shut and he let out a frustrated sigh. {Remind me why I feel bad for this Asshole again?} he asked himself as he tucked the ring into his pocket and put his head in his hands in a exhausted motion.
                              P.O.V CHANGE
Thomas felt bad for bringing up the ring and even making that stupid comment {great job Thomas, just great} he told himself sarcastically as he shook his head at his own stupidity. Though he couldn't deny the little part of him that was wondering why Alexander had been avoiding him, he want blind, he noticed. Everytime Jefferson walked onto a room Alexander immediately got up and left, very time they were gonna take the same elevator he would last minute take the stairs. Hell he even abandoned his coffee when Jefferson walked into the same café as him
As he walked towards James's office he saw a happy looking Charles Lee walk out of the said office and practically skip down the hall, his hair was in a frenzy and he could tell the first two buttons of his shirt were undone so nobody can blame him for rushing into Madison's office. He was perfectly put together and nothing as out of place and Thomas sighed in relief.
                              “Thomas!” exclaimed a surprised James.
“Hey Jemmy, haha did you see Charles? He looks wracked, you think Washington have him another mouton of work?” James visibly stiffened and...was he sweating? “Jemmy...you alright?” he snapped out of his state and started shaking his head with a smile plastered on his face though his smile seemed oddly..plastic.
“I’m fine TJ, don't worry about it.” Thomas just nodded and slinked over to one of the chairs and sat down.
                              P.O.V CHANGE
Alexander almost puked a little when he saw the doupy grin on a disorientated Charles Lee and him finally realizing two of his shirt buttons were undone and he fixed them with trembling hands. He shook his head in disgust and walked out of the bathroom. He could tell Madison hasn't told Jefferson yet or else Charles would be more careful of where he fixes up.
Alright, looks like he should start thinking of ways to tell Jefferson the news.
