Alexander combed his fingers through his hair in a utter disarray. His eyes looked at the laptop and he tried focusing but he couldn't, it's like he was reading the same lines over and over again but the words felt like mindless lines running through his overloaded brain. The last month has been overly hard on him and it didn't help that he barely slept last night, not like that's not normal it's just that he got less sleep then he normally did so that meant he went from four hours to maybe two or three hours. He lost track.

At first it was his giant mistake, why did he have to cheat on Eliza? He knew that getting involved with that Mariah women would have a horrible outcome but he did it anyway. He remembered when Eliza found out, that was caused by his second mistake posting the Reynolds Pamphlet he was a utter idiot, she cried and she looked utterly destroyed that's when she threw all her stuff in a suitcase and left without a thought she is now living in London with Angelica. Oh and Angelica she was a real beast he had expected her to explode but she made him feel like a worthless heap of trash. Now, he is hopelessly trying to fix his mistake with his wife he thanked god Eliza hadn't filed for divorce yet.

He stood unable to look at the eye straining screen any longer and he trudged out of his office heading towards the break room for some life saving coffee. He opened the doors to said room and the atmosphere went from relaxed and calm to stuffy and thick as everyone stopped to look at the sick looking man. He had darker than normal circles resting under his eyes and his eyes themselves which where normally filled with determination and mischievousness were now looking dull and exhausted. He was sluggish and dead-looking as he made a cup of black coffee and brought it to his chapped lips.

"Well, well, look what the cat dragged in" he visibly tensed he narrowed his eyes. {Of course} he thought bitterly {Thomas fucking Jefferson has to fuck with me the one day I can't deal with his shit.}

"Fuck off Jefferson" he spat with utter annoyance as he gave him a steely glare. He looked at the virginian and grimaced at how well off he looked, his normal purple coat was clean and his shoes were polished like marble flooring he had a shit eating grin on his face and he looked stress free and healthy. He hated how calm and relaxed the man looked and as much as he hated to admit it the taller male actually was quite attractive.

"Watcha' looking at Hamilton, like what you see?" he said mockingly as he gave another cocky smile. People started ushering away knowing that this could get real ugly real fast cause whenever Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton were in the same room things were bound to get hellish.

"Your inflated ego and never" Jefferson glared but Alexander scoffed and walked right passed him, the last thing he needs on his plate right now was being sent to Washington's office for right hooking Thomas Jefferson in the face. His rivalry with Jefferson started in college when they first met at a debate lecture and they ended up arguing over the legal car safety in Montana. Then they had to both get a job in the White House, Alexander was delighted when he got his position as the head of the treasury but was levied when he found out Jefferson was the Secretary Of State and ever since then his cabinet meetings have been filled with wrath and pure danger and his days were soaked in petty hallway glares and small argument brawls in the staff room and other places.

He got back to his desk and collapsed in his chair and went back to half-assing his essays and documents and responding to Emails as he sleepily sips his coffee and rolls his eyes at some of the ridiculous prepositions he got presented with.

P.O.V Change

Thomas Jefferson walked through the staff room doors and snickered when he saw the shorter man struggling with the new coffee maker. He was honestly confused when he saw how concerned some of the people in the room looked at Alexander. He rolled his eyed thinking it was the usual bit, but when he made a pacific remark regarding how bad he looked his eyes widened a fraction when Alexander turned around.

"Fuck off Jefferson" he heard the words but they went in one ear and out the other the smaller man looked awful he looked like he hadn't slept in weeks and he looked so..so..helpless. It honestly looked like he was about to fall over and die any second with how thin and weak he seemed but he quickly shook the thoughts away and wiped away any concern that might have plagued his features.

"Whacha' looking at Hamilton, like what you see?" he asked taking notice of how the small treasurer glared at him with such loathing that he knew if looks could kill he would be six feet under by now.

"Your inflated ego and never" his voice sounded raspy like sandpaper and exhausted but he ignored it, readying himself for a witty response as he glared at him but instead he was surprisingly given a annoyed scoff and the smell of cheap ass coffee swept past him as Hamilton marches away. The sound of footsteps soon faded and the secretary of state sighed.

"Well he is no fun" secretly the virginian had always noticed how bad Hamilton always seemed and how his health had been sinking the past month he knew the Reynolds thing had something to do with it but he wasn't entirely sure of the weight it had on him. He was actually worried about him but he would never admit it specially to his best friend James Madison who was starting to expect something. Which was the last thing he wanted sense he and James were in a open relationship but he was wanting to make it a closed one soon.

P.O.V change

Alexander stumbled into the bathroom he skipped lunch again and it was starting to take a toll on him as he splashed water on his face and tried to smack the color back to his cheeks. This wasn't good he knew he should probably leave to get a meal but there was work to be done but at the same time he didn't want Washington giving him another lecture on taking care of himself so he sighed decided going to the nearby café would be the best choice. Though..his body had other plans.

His head started to feel dizzy and the room started to spin {when was the last time I ate?} He racked his head..well..the best he could for someone who was on the brink of blacking out. {Aw fuck..I haven't eaten since yesterday's brunch} he leaned against the wall and slid to the ground. He held his head as he started slipping in and out of consciousness and as his eyelids started wilting and his mind started losing its grip, the bathroom door opened.

"What the fuck?!" the last thing he heard was the sound of a southern accent and the tall frame of a man drop to his side before he was out.
