LADYBUG'S POV

I looked around frantically, but nothing was coming up in my Ladybug vision. But I had this nagging feeling that I just wasn't seeing it.

There was this...red flashing in the side of my eyes...I kept wondering could it be something important.

Darkifyer yanked me from my trance-like thought process with a grabbing hand. I ducked and ran into an alleyway.

But suddenly, my vision was going crazy. There were hundreds of red, black spotted spirals going down into a puddle on the side of the concrete, the water blinking polka dots like crazy.

I ambled over and looked at the puddle quizzically.

"It's just my reflection..." I whispered, puzzled.

But that's when I got it.

In my reflection, there were spirals again. But this time, they were pointing to my earrings. I reached up and felt the earrings, and there was a new, peculiar hole in the middle spot. I looked down at the rhinestones, flashing red and black, and realized...

They'd fit perfectly.

"Here goes nothing," I said hopefully, placing the gems into the earrings.

Suddenly, all I saw was a swirl of pink, white, and black. I was-floating?

I was clothed in a red robe, floating in some strange space like time had stopped. I realized I wasn't alone. There were countless women dressed in the same flowing robe, all in front of me in four long lines.

The woman in the front of the first line stepped forward. She had pale skin, cheeks full of freckles, and a ponytail of red, curly hair.

"Welcome, lass," She greeted in a strong Irish accent.

The next woman stepped forward, and she looked much different than the last. She was copper tan and had black hair, brown eyes lined with black.

"We have been waiting for you," She smiled.

The next woman stepped forward, with more round, brown eyes and her skin dark. Her black hair was in cornrows to her waist, and her left wrist had a gold bangle decorating it.

"The Miraculous has given you a very special gift, Marinette," She informed me, enthusiastically.

"You know my name?" I asked, mouth gaping open.

The woman in the front of the last line came forward as well. She looked-

Like me?

She had my same complexion, midnight hair in a bun on the top of her head, tied with a ribbon.

"Yes, Ladybug of Paris," She began, "We do. I am Maria, Ladybug of Past Paris."

"Nakaya, Ladybug of Past Harar," The cornrowed one said.

"Abayomi, Ladybug of Past Giza," The next one said.

"Catriona, Ladybug of Past Ireland," The redhead introduced proudly, "And it is not very often that the Miraculous gives any hero the Gift."

"The Gift?" I asked, "What's that?"

"That special pair of jewels you received," Nakaya explained, "They will improve your powers beyond your imagination. Maria was the first to receive it, Catriona the second, Abayomi the third and I the fourth."

"They are given when you have met your match," Abayomi began, "In the heat of a battle you can't defeat on your own. Your allies are down, and unable to help you."

"If they were to try, the results would be catastrophic," Catriona warned, "They will need help."

I could hardly believe what was happening. The Ladybugs of the past were talking to me? And I was receiving better powers because my friends were down for the count? It was so much to take in.

"Wait, how do you know all this?" I investigated.

"You are a very special one, Marinette," Maria beamed, "All of us are inside you. When the day comes that you need us, we will be there."

Suddenly, all the lines fell down on their knees, bowing. Every Ladybug from me to far away down on the ground. Maria stood and walked up to me, placing a hand on my cheek.

"You will save us all."

The Ladybugs stood and began to walk away, fading as they went.

"No!" I cried, "Wait! Don't go! Don't leave me! Please!"

With a flash of radiant white light...

They were gone.
