Chapter 1- The Project

"Listen up, class!" Mr Bustier called from his desk. "We have our next project!" Maxine was the only one who payed attention to the teacher. Mr Bustier sighed. "It's a parenting project." Within two seconds, all head in the room turned to the exasperated teacher. "As part of our new Health unit, you will be learning how to be a parent. Andrea Bourgeois has provided some advanced baby replicas, on the condition that Cole gets to choose his partner." Marin groaned sleepily , as Cole looked over at Adrienne.

"Cole gets enough stuff already. It's a wonder Mayor Bourgeois got elected for a 3rd term, considering the way he bribes people." Marin whispered to Ali, who smiled.

"We'll also be learning about the importance of choosing clothing for babies by having Gabrielle Agreste help us out today." Mr Bustier said, which caused excitement and chatter throughout the class. Mr Bustier breathed out, knowing that having a celebrity ensemble would be great for the kids, and that was his goal as a teacher.

Adrienne thought her day couldn't get any worse. She was up all night fighting an akumatized with Fortune, making her tired and late. Then, she payed 0 attention in English, and now a new project where she'd be undoubtedly be paired with Cole AND now Mother was intruding on it. She sighed. Nina, her best friend looked over at her, concerned. "You ok, girl?" She managed to smile. "I'm fine." Mr Bustier flicked on the projector and opened up Skype. "Kids, go sit with the partners you've been assigned." Cole ran over to Adrienne and shoved Nina out of her seat. Out of sight, Nina faked vomiting, which made Adrienne laugh.

Marin looked down at his paper and found that he had been assigned with Kim, which was OK. She was nice enough, but Adrienne would've been a lot better. A soft but serious voice filled the room. "Hello, class." Marin gasped. Gabrielle Agreste's face had appeared on the screen. She didn't seem happy to be here, but she hadn't been happy when her fashion brand hit the billion of dollars in profit.

Adrienne sighed as her mother appeared on screen. The class wouldn't be so shocked if they learned how it was to be her. To her dismay, Gabrielle looked straight at her. "Adrienne. Who is your partner for this?" Cole raised his hand, hoping to get in with the famous designer. "Me, Ms Agreste." Gabrielle's face shut down, her brow creasing.

"No."

"You are a bad enough influence on my daughter. I will not have her doing any kind of project with such a spoiled brat."
The entire class was ecstatic, watching Cole finally get what he deserved. Cole, on the other hand, was not ecstatic. He stood up. "Ms Agreste, do you know who my mother is?" Gabrielle stayed cool. "Yes, and you tell Andrea to get rid of Paris' richest corporation, she'll be jumping for joy." Cole sat down, his face red with anger. Marin was the happiest in the class, knowing Cole had this coming for an approximate 5 years. Then, something unexpected happened.

Gabrielle looked over at Marin. "Marin, as I recall. You won the hat-making competition, yes?" Marin nodded. He had a vague idea of what was about to happen, but he was so down on luck that he thought it must've been something else.

"You will be my daughter's new partner." Gabrielle said. Marin kept the massive gasp inside of him, and nodded. "Sure."
Ali looked over at Marin. "Dude, you have hit the jackpot. Gabrielle Agreste chose you!" Marin could not believe it. He looked over at Adrienne, only to find her already looking over at him. She smiled, making Marin's heart melt.

Class had progressed like you would've expected to. Gabrielle gave some tips that helped a few people, and Cole was reassigned to Kim, to her delight and Cole's rage. The bell ring, causing a flurry of activity. "Remember, the baby keeps track of how well you take care of it!" Mr Bustier called.

Ali walked alongside Marin, who was almost excited about the project as hew was. "You got Adrienne? AND Gabrielle Agreste chose you for the job? Your luck is on point!" Marin managed a smile. "Yeah, it is." He was too busy thinking about Adrienne. Pulling himself back into the real world, he managed not to fall over the stairs. "Who'd you get?" Ali smiled. "Nina." Marin laughed. "I guess we both got who we wanted, huh?" As he prepared to walk home, a voice distracted him. "Hey, Marin!" It was Adrienne. Marin, before turning around, told himself mentally not to stutter or be in any way awkward. He turned around. "Y...yeah?"

"Since we have the parenting project together, I was wondering if you'd want to come round to my place? Lyra can drive us."Adrienne asked, pointed in the direction of her limo.Marin nodded vigorously. "That'd be great! I'll just tell my parents." As he turned around, Marin turned a bright red. He was going to his crush's house. Adrienne Agreste's house.

He just hoped he didn't stuff anything up.
