Adrian jogged after the Lightwood siblings, grasping onto Isabelle's upper arm to catch her attention while Alec continued to walk away in anger. The dark haired latino girl was gorgeous, with her runes in all the right places and a body to die for it was no wonder Adrian had fallen for the Lightwood female so quickly.

"Isabelle, can we talk?" Adrian asked hopefully, relief filling his veins when Izzy nodded and grabbed his hand, leading him through the institute to her room.

"What did you want to talk about?" Izzy asked curiously and a light blush covered Adrians cheeks and he had no idea why. It's not like he hadn't felt this way before, he'd been with men and women, with seelies, vampires, wolves and warlocks. Why was Isabelle Lightwood affecting him so much. Adrian didn't know what to say, so he did the only thing he could think of.

He kissed Isabelle Lightwood.

It was obvious she wasnt expecting it, freezing with her hands on his forearms and her lips pressed against his. But then she kissed back. The kiss wasn't anything special, it didn't get deeper or more needy, stayed calm and innocent and Adrian felt light and giddy inside. When they finally pulled away, Adrian hadn't realised he'd closed his eyes until he opened them to see Isabelle's curious blue eyes staring back at him.

"Why did you do that?" Izzy's voice was calm, no tone of accusation or protest, only curiosity.

"I've wanted to do that since the day we met." Adrian said honestly. "You know better than anyone i don't talk unless i have too." And this was true. Adrian had been adopted by Jocelyn when he was 6 years old, Clary was only 2 at the time, and he'd been diagnosed with what mundanes called selective mutism. He didn't say a word until he was 15, and even then it was rare for him to speak if he could avoid it. Now, at 22, he only spoke when it was absolutely necesarry which pissed of Jace and Alec to no end, since neither of them understood the silent looks Clary and Adrian would exchange or the sign language they would speak frequently.

"I'll be honest. I've never felt this way about anyone." Izzy admitted to Adrian, still standing in front of the Fairchild boy with barely an inch between them. "And i'm terrified."

"Then we can be terrified together." Adrian offered with a smile, and Izzy's face lit up as she giggled. Adrian let one arm wrap around Izzy's lower back, pressing her closer while his other hand moved to her neck. "Can i kiss you again?"

"You can kiss me whenever you like, Adrian." Izzy offered, kissing Adrian with a newfound sense of peace she never wanted to let go of.
