[A/N: Compared to the last chapter, I'm going to be really nice in this one...you'll see why! :) Enjoy!]
----
I twiddle my thumbs nervously as I await Caroline's arrival. What am I supposed to say to her? 'Hey, sorry I didn't answer sooner! I got drunk at the party and a guy took me to his house after I passed out. It's no big deal, really.' Yeah. Like she would believe that. Maybe I could-
"E, LET ME IN! YOU CAN'T HIDE THIS FROM ME FOREVER!"
Ugh. She's here.
I slowly open the door and peek my head outside.
"Hiya girly," Caroline says in a high-pitched voice.
"Come on in," I say as I pull her inside.
----
"So," Caroline says, raising her eyebrows.
"So."
"Spill. It. All."
"Fine," I start. "Because you forgot to pick me up, I had to walk to Dylan's house. I ran into some trouble at the door and Daniel came to my rescue. We got drinks, but someone had done something to it. That means I got drunk, passed out, Daniel took me home with him, and dropped me off this morning."
I look over at Caroline. She has the face of a kid who got a pony for Christmas.
"So...Daniel? Who's he? New boyfriend?"
"NO," I practically yell. "He's just a friend."
"Yeah, uh huh. Just a friend," Caroline says with air quotes.
I roll my eyes, but I'm pretty sure my face is bright red.
"We have to celebrate, E! You almost got a boy!"
"Um, okay?"
"We're going to Panera - c'mon!"
----
The car ride was very painful. That woman shot questions at me left and right. Good thing I had my lightsaber to block them all.
As we sit down at a table with our soups, one of the employees from behind the counter walks over to us.
Caroline shoots me the look. I just smile at her.
"Hi ladies, is everything okay," the employee asks.
I clear my throat. "Everything is just fine. The food is great!"
"Okay, that's good." He flicks his snowy white hair, revealing his gorgeous blue eyes. His eyes search me, like he's trying to say something.
"Um, thanks," I lean to the side to see his name tag, "Jack. Thanks for checking up on us. Bye."
----
For the past hour, Caroline and I have been playing Racket-Balloon. You pretty much try to keep a balloon up in the air with a tennis racket.
"What was up with that guy," I ask. Dang I almost missed the balloon.
"I have no idea, but if he were an apple, he'd be delicious." Caroline spikes the ball of oxygen at my face.
"It always amazes me how you can compare guys to food."
"You know," she spins her racket and strikes a pose, "it's one of my many talents."
I completely forget about the balloon and drop to the floor laughing.
----
"Elsa Anderson to the principal's office please. Elsa Anderson to the principal's office please."
Shiz. What did I do now? I bid Caroline a goodbye as she heads off for first period.
The lady at the front desk greets me and tells me to go to the back.
I slowly make my way to Principal Peters' office.
"Ah, come in Elsa!" Mr. Peters waves at me.
"Sir, did I do something wrong?"
"No, no, I just wanted you to show Mr. Frost around the school."
"Oh." The white-haired boy turns around in his chair to face me.
His familiar blue eyes pierce into mine.
