Faith's PoV

we arrived at the hotel, which turned out to be a lot further away than i thought.

we get out of the car with our bags, Rye then took hold of my hand as we took in the scenery. there was no doubt that it was an expensive hotel.. my dad always was one for things like this. His job pays him well i guess.. one of the reasons as to why i still didn't work yet. i volunteered sometimes at the hospital but i never had a proper paid job since i didn't have the time as i had college as well as looking after Mia.

"well.. this looks uh rather big" rye comments and i almost snort a laugh.

"he always has to show off doesn't he" i mutter under my breath. obviously not as quietly as i'd planned..

"what?" Rye asks, looking down at me, a grin across his face.

"my dad, he always has to show off" i say louder, rolling my eyes.

"kind of makes me feel a lot more nervous now" he laughs and i look at him confused.

"why?"

"one.. hes your dad. two.. this seems very- well posh, he doesn't have high expectations does he..?"

"i don't know anymore.. he'll love you though.. he just- might not show it, depends what mood he's in.." i mumble and Rye gulps. crap.

"i- let's go in then" rye says quietly

"rye.. don't worry about what he thinks okay?" i tell him, gently squeezing his hand. he gives a small smile and nods. i smile back and we both head inside to the front desk.

"faith summers to check in..?" i say to the lady sat behind the desk. she was dressed in a white shirt, black blazer and skirt. her hair was curly and grey, but she had a warm smile which seemed to somehow instantly calm my nerves a little.

"oh yes dear! your father has been expecting you! it appears he called around 2pm to change your room due to another guest which i'm guessing is this gentleman beside you! yes, you've been upgraded to our suite up on the top floor" she beams and i frown.

"i um- as lovely as that sounds, is there anyway i can just go back to the original room he booked..? it was for 2 anyways-"

"your father told me you'd not be too happy about this, im sorry miss, he insisted you have the suite" she tells me, handing me the key card. i sigh and take it.

"well- thank you" i say, forcing a smile.

"have a nice stay" she smiles back at me.

i look up at Rye, he's staring down at me curiously. i shrug and he rolls his eyes.

"lets just accept this, look on the bright side, we got a suite! that's sick!' he says, trying to cheer me up. i guess it works a little, bit deep down i know he's as nervous as i am now.

why is my dad trying THIS hard to impress? the hotel itself was good enough.

"i know i know.. but it's just making me question why he's trying so hard" i tell him and Rye frowns.

"Now i am too, is that bad?"

"i'm not sure.. no?" i say and he shrugs as we get into the lift, or should i call it an elevator? jesus.

"going up madame?" Rye asks in a posh accent and i let out a laugh.

"i am, why thank you kind sir" i mock and he also begins to laugh, pressing the button to our floor.

"JESUS CHRIST 32 FLOORS?" Rye gasps, "what is this place"

"i seriously can't believe we're here" i mumble and Rye looks down at me.

"hey, it'll be okay, i'll be with you the whole time.." he tells me and i just hug him tightly, snuggling into his chest.

"i just hope it will actually be okay-"

the lift, sorry, elevator, doors open revealing quite a grand hallway. for the size of the hallway however, there seemed to be barely any rooms. and that made me realise- they were probably huge.

"uh suite 98?" Rye says, stepping out with me. i roll my eyes.

98- 1998, the year i was born. there was no doubt in my mind that my dad was trying to suck up to me for some reason. he never got me a birthday present as a kid- actually let me rephrase that. he never wished me a happy birthday whatsoever.

"i really want to leave" i say quietly as we get to the door of suite 98.

"hey, remember what i said okay?" rye says and i nod. just as he is about to open the door, my phone buzzes. i take it out and look at the screen.

Dad
are you both here yet? go straight to your room, i'm waiting for you both, see you soon x

"Rye he's inside already" i gulp and he stops himself from opening the door.

"oh- i- um-"

but before we can even discuss it, the door swings open for us.
