You were the shadow to my light, and all of a sudden, you faded away. Where you are and what you are haunt my mind all day, I just need you here so I could wake up every morning with a reason to smile; a reason to live.

I got up and looked around. Nicky wasn't there. I was probably dreaming last night. I remained in bed for a while crying my heart out. My brothers came in probably having heard my sobs.

"Jayln?"

"Why Nicky?" I asked out of nowhere. "It could've been me and not her!"

"Jayln stop!" Shawn yelled. "We miss her too but you're losing your mind over this! You need therapy and comfort classes."

"Are you saying I'm going mad?!" I yelled.

"You will if you don't stop trying to figure out who killed her cause it's pointless!" Adrian yelled. "Respect her wishes!"

"You don't know how I feel! You never had to wake up every morning praying that you don't mess up or your dad will make you a punching dummy! I want to learn what it's like to wake up in the morning and not feel sad and be happy and not worry about a thing!"

"Jayln..." Adrian began. I shut him up and yelled at them to get out of my room. They reluctantly left me to my thoughts. I fell on my bed and checked the time. I had an hour to teleport to the base. I quickly dressed up in the bathroom and was about to teleport when I felt a hand around my shoulder.

"Happy birthday Jay."

"Happy birthday Angel."

She kissed my cheek as we teleported to the base. Everywhere was empty and it was quite fishy. Nicky was giggling beside me like a maniac. She held my hand and dragged me towards the middle of the room. Once we stopped walking, everyone jumped out from their hiding places.

"Happy birthday twins!"

I gasped and looked at Nicky. Everyone here could see her. But...

"You said you wouldn't celebrate your birthday unless I was there so...I'm here! I went to visit Dr. Luke last night. That's where I was when you woke up."

I smiled as everyone embraced us. Nicky embraced them making them to sob. It was probably so awesome for them and I could say the same thing for myself. Nicky was with me throughout the day. I had to upgrade my strength, speed and learn how to use the high tech gadgets. It wasn't easy to learn in one day but with Nicky by my side, it was like we were learning Taekwondo together again like when we were thirteen.

"This is hard Nicky!" I groaned. We were learning some stupid thing called kata. It was meant to spiritually distract our opponents. I was unable to keep up with them cause I hate Taekwondo. The only reason I joined was because Nicky said I was getting too skinny.

"Then watch me instead." She said. "We'll do it slowly. I'll stay in a position till you get it."

That's exactly what she did. I learnt it and once I did the last move I was so happy. Sensei told us to do it by ourselves for him. Nicky and I were the only ones who did it with the right pace and body postures and movements.

"But they were learning better than me."  I said to Nicky when we were going home with our black belts.

She smiled at me. "They knew the moves but they weren't patient to know the movements and postures. That's the key thing in life, the difference between us is patience."

We held hands giggling as we went to an ice-cream parlor.

"Well, we need to pair you with someone first." Dr. Luke said.
