It's been so long since I've seen so many people. Last time I was with this many, they were all trying to get out of the city and screaming for their lives. Central Republic certainly makes me feel like nothing's happened, and that I somehow was back to the bustling metropolis I called my home when I was young. Although, there seems to be a lot more futuristic technology and taller skyscrapers. If it wasn't for the strange architecture and the supernatural creatures around me, I actually feel like a normal teenager spending a night out with a friend.
Only my friend happens to be a werewolf. Despite the claws and sharp teeth I've seen her have in her beastly form earlier, Haley's really fun to be with. Not only has she been taking me to the best places in Central Republic and getting me food, but she's by far the best company I've ever been with. None could compare to how possitive and lively she is.
Two more hours until the Festival of Blessings was about to begin. I checked for the bracelet Haley gave me to offer to one of the witches in my pocket and made sure it was safe. Even through all the running Haley and I did, I'm surprised I didn't lose it. I felt Haley would literally kill me if I did. That's why I probably took extra precaution without even knowing I suppose.
The two of us headed to the section of Central Republic we were in earlier. Haley pushed people aside with ease until she was standing right in front of the stage. I followed behind her and appologized to everyone we passed that complained when they're foot was stepped on or were unintentionally shoved by Haley. I tried to ignore the presumably various glowing colored eyes that glared me down. When I was finally beside her, Haley raised her brow at me.
"What took you so long?" she asked.
I sighed and rolled my eyes back. "Don't have the super strength to shove people out of my way.
"I didn't push anyone," Haley retorted. "I just walked past them." She shrugged and focused her attention back to the stage. I did the same and noticed the four cloaked casters from the parade. As each of them made their way across, soon after forming a line side by side one another, everyone cheered and showed their adoration. Haley and I just clapped and waited.
When everyone finally quieted down, the first to reveal her face to the public and take off her hood was the caster wearing the blue cloak which she then completely slid off her body. Underneath she wore a gorgeous blue gown and matching heeled shoes. Dangling from her ears were large sapphire earrings. Her hair was brown and wavy and reached her shoulders kind of like Haley's. She looked about eighteen and was extremely beautiful. Everyone began to let out wolf whistles and she gave the crowd a wink which made made their cheering even louder.
She stepped forward and extended her hands, palms facing the sky. Her eyes glowed purple and she began to chant words, which I assume come from the same language the nurse used to cast a spell on me earlier. "Infundens Pluvia!"
All of a sudden rain started pouring down. I looked up and noticed that it was clear night sky. There wasn't a single cloud in sight yet billions of water droplets fell. People began to complain about getting wet, which appeared to make her stop her spell.
"Nolite Incantatores!" she exclaimed. Her eyes glowed purple and the rain stopped immediately. People continued to complain but she kept a calm demeanor and stepped back into the line along with the other three casters. There were still those who clapped for her, but her spell didn't get much adoration, nor did it give many to her. Other than being completely soaked, that was actually pretty amazing. I've never seen anything like it before. Magic is definitely incredible. Haley told me about its limits, but I wonder what else witches could do.
Haley twisted her hair like a wet towel and tried her best to dry it. "Not really the best kind of shower but that was still fantastic, don't you think?"
