We walked for what seemed to be half an hour. My feet were killing me, but mostly because I've been walking aimlessly for days from the snackshack I was in, to the city. I only stopped when I stumbled upon those vampires as well as the werewolves I'm currently with.
I remained quite for the rest of the way. I couldn't shake off the woried feeling I had for going into a sector full of werewolves. My goal was to reach Central Republic and head to the Human Sector during the morning. I didn't want to ask if there was another way to Central Republic without going through the Werewolf Sector, and something in my mind told me that I should have. However, I didn't want to come off to Curtis and the others as rude, especially after they saved my life, so I kept my mouth shut.
The enormous stone wall stopped us in our tracks. On the middle of the two large doors was what I assumed to be the werewolf insignia. It was eight empty yellow circles compressed together. I wondered what meaning it had behind it, as well as the blood-red swirl that represented the vampires. Questions had to wait. I had to pass through the werewolf sector first.
Curtis let out a howl and I turned to see that he was still in his human form. I assumed he and other werewolves can activate their capabilities halfway without transforming completely. The doors moved and two males stood in front of us. I once again saw the same bright yellow glow in their eyes.
The two males along with Curtis and three other werewolves I was with, stepped to the side and began to talk. I couldn't hear what they were saying, only whispers of words that I wasn't able to piece together. Maybe they were wondering if they can trust me as much as I can trust them.
"Don't worry," Haley assured me. "We're a welcoming race, especially to those in need of our help."
Eventually, the five werewolves stopped talking and the two guards let us pass. Curtis beckoned for me to walk beside him as we entered the Werewolf Sector.
When we were finally inside, I marveled at the stone houses that served as homes for werewolves. Almost everything, including the enormous wall was made of stone. Torches and fire were the only sources of light. It seemed that werewolves depended little on electricity, and abided by old traditions on their daily lives.
As we walked, I caught the stares of many individuals who stopped what they were doing to see us pass by. Their facial expressions were hard to read. I couldn't tell if they were shocked or confused. They just stood there and watched. Not a single sound was created by them. I just saw that bright yellow glow in their eyes.
After about another hour and a half of walking through the Werewolf Sector, we finally reached the other side of the large stone wall. Two large doors, similar to the ones we've encountered earlier with the same insignia in the middle opened to let us out. I turned around to see the faces of many people. The last thing I saw was that bright yellow glow in their eyes as the doors closed.
We walked through a dense forest and finally saw a clearing after about a half hour. When we stepped out of the shrubbery, I was presented with tall buildings and lights. My jaw nearly dropped. There was an actual city here...
I looked up and laid eyes on the tallest building, with a large green globe-like object consisting of smaller orbs, on top of it. I couldn't stop staring at everything. The beautiful lights almost brought tears to my face. But then, all of a sudden my vission began to fade and I could feel my knees weaken. Pretty soon, I was on the ground, and everything went black.
When I woke up, I was inside what appeared to be a hospital room. I don't know what happened, but I see Curtis beside my bed, dozing off. I groaned, and noticed a needle in my left hand. Whatever happened to me must be really bad since I need an intravenous injection. I manage to wake up Curtis, who yawned before giving me a smile.
