Dear Tim,

I wish I could fly back immediately.  Why, of all times, does your heart have to start acting up now.  Maybe you should find a cardiologist.  My military insurance should cover the costs and absolutely find the furthest person from that Bertrand psycho to take care of you.  I'm wondering how he made it out of med school.

Having Harry here makes it less lonely.  We talk quite a bit about non war things to keep us in reality.  I just wish you could be here too, or, as a better option, I wish I could be at home.  I miss watching you sketch out characters and plotlines.

The package and letter came.  I'm a bit ashamed because I was disappointed when I saw it wasn't from you.  We don't need to let Mom and Dad know.  I've eaten six of forty M&M's packets to the date of this letter.  Harry's worried I'll go into a chocolate induced sugar coma.  If ever there was an honorable way to go out, it would be eating M&M's to death.  In the future, when I'm old and decrepit, they'll have to put liquified M&M's in an IV and shoot it straight into my body.

It's awesome that you have a new book to work on.  If I was a third grader, I would definitely read it and have all my friends read it too.  Jewels certainly knows a good plot when she sees it.  Are you going to illustrate it?  I think it'd be fun to see how the kid's creations look.

Three days ago, I proposed our first major strike against Ammon.  I can't discuss it in detail for security reasons, and the threat of being court martialed, but we are going to cut off his supply of weaponry.  A swift tactical team will move in and confiscate all weapons and people.  No more weapons means no more executions and no more enemy army.  Well, for the most part.

I miss you so much Tim.  I have a big case of homesickness that pesters my dreams.  Lately, all my dreams are memories of us, not that that's a bad thing.  Harry says he's the same way with his wife, so I guess that means it's normal.  His last letter from her says she pregnant!  They're going to have a baby!  I think it's fueling Harry to get this "dadgum war" done with better than anything else.

I love you Tim.  Keep me updated on your heart.  I will make sure to stay alive out here, if for no one else than you.

J.J.
