(Keith's POV unless otherwise specified)
Things have been the same for me ever since I was born. The same friends, the same house, the same family. Nothing has changed. Everyday for the past 12 years, I have done the same thing. Wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, do my hair, go to school, talk to Hunk and Pidge, go to all of my classes, come home, do stuff on my phone, eat dinner, and then go to sleep.
That was, until one day when a new boy moved to my town in New Jersey. Now don't get me wrong, our school got new students quite often, I just never interacted with them before. This boy, however, was different. He had this presence when he walked to the front of the classroom the first day of our senior year to introduce himself.
He had a sort of cocky appearance in how he walked and talked, but it wasn't a bad cocky, per se, more like confidence. "Hello, everyone! My name's Lance McClain. I'm from Arizona, and I just moved here last month." He started to point around at different people in the class, "I saw you at Target when I first got here, you at the movie theater. Weren't you going on a date with that guy?" He kept going on and on, embarrassing as many people as he could. Luckily, I was positive I hadn't seen him anywhere.
He continues rambling on, and I start to space out. I suddenly see a finger pointing at me from out of the corner of my eye. I turn around hesitantly, "You must be Keith! Pidge told me a lot about you, including your deepest, darkest secret, you're actually-" By then, I had already run up to him and covered his mouth. As soon as he mentioned Pidge, I knew that trouble was brewing. I then felt a strange wetness on my hand.
"Did you just lick my hand?!" I quickly take my hand off of his mouth, "That's so gross, man!"
He smirks like he just achieved something major. I glared at him, trying to wipe my hand on his sleeve. When I move forward to wipe my hand, he moves out of the way just in time, making sure I stumbled. I just went back to my desk, already positive that I hated this new guy.
Sorry, I didn't want to make this too long, since it is just the prologue. I just wanted to make sure that they met each other and it made sense. This story might move pretty slowly at the beginning. I hope you are enjoying it so far, and that I continue to keep writing!
