I did my best to avoid Lance, but it wasn't very effective. I had him in my homeroom, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 7th periods. There was no getting away from him. Unluckily, the classes I had with him were the classes I previously liked. Now, the only time of day I enjoyed was lunch, because he'd leave me alone.
Everyday, I always ate with my two friends, Pidge and Hunk. If Shiro was ever on lunch duty, he'd eat with us, too.
Pidge was a strange girl, she's short, has these almost owl-like glasses, and pretends to be a boy. The strangest thing about her, is that she loves to tease me.
Scratch that, she loves to tease everyone. Especially me. No matter what I did, she knew about it, and used it against me.
Hunk was better, he's a tall, roundish boy that loves to hug. He can fix any situation with a hug. He loves food, and he's really supportive, no matter what I'm doing. He also tries to keep Pidge in tow, so she doesn't rampage.
Shiro was my homeroom teacher last year. He's really cool. All the girls talk about how hot he is, and some of the guys. He's the youngest teacher at our school, which really wasn't that hard to beat, we have a lot of old teachers. If he had been my homeroom this year, he would've stopped Lance from talking, I'm sure of it.
Anyways, we were eating lunch, like every other day. Shiro was making sure kids didn't burn the place down, Hunk was playing a kazoo for whatever reason, and Pidge was typing away on her laptop. I just put my earbuds into my ears and listened to Planetary GO! by My Chemical Romance as loud as I could to block out the sound.
I was eating my sandwich, when I saw a tall, lanky figure next to me. It was wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans. Oh shit. I thought to myself. It's him. Lance.
I tried to just ignore him at first, when he tapped me on the shoulder, "Don't ignore me!" I slowly, and regretfully turned around.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"To sit here?" He looks at me with his eyebrow raised, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
I realized that I was taking up the whole seat, and scooted over so he could sit down. I only did that, because there literally was not a seat left in the cafeteria that day.
He sat down and took a sip of his drink, before talking to Pidge, "Hey, Pidge! I haven't seen you since the first day of school! Don't you remember that? You told me about Hunk, and Keith, too. I get to see him all day, but he always looks pretty grumpy."
Before I let him continue talking, I interrupted him, "That's because you never shut up." I didn't want to speak too loudly, so I kind of mumbled it.
"What was that?" He asked, truly not hearing me.
"You heard what I said!" I turned around and continued eating my lunch, while he talked to Pidge some more.
"So, Pidge, is there anything else I should know about Keith? Other than the fact that he's a stick in the mud, introverted, and-" I slapped him so he'd stop talking. I knew what he was going to say, because I knew Pidge. I glared at Pidge for a solid minute, while she just smirked.
"Sorry," Lance apologized, it seemed out of character for him, "I guess I kind of just like making you mad."
I was furious at this point, "That's so shitty of you! Why would anyone just like to make someone mad?!"
He smirked, "Because you're really cute when you're mad."
The rage seemed to flush off of my face, and turned into a blush. I quickly turned away, stammering, "No I don't, what are you talking about, you don't know what you're talking about, no-"
He drapes his arm over my shoulder, "Okay, sorry, sorry, I'll stop."
I blush a bit more before mumbling, "You better."
