Every day after that at school was a lot less awkward. Lance didn't kiss my hand every time we had to part, and he wasn't super dramatic every time he saw me.

Everything kind of stayed the same at school. Well, we'd hold hands in the hallways between classes, and sometimes, during lunch, we'd go into the storage closet and make out.

I probably should've realized and taken advantage of this earlier, but Pidge is really good at covering up for other people. I mean, like, really good.

One day, when we went to make out, and it was Pidge's turn to cover for us, she told the teachers that we had a science project to work on. She had every detail down, so it'd be believable. I appreciate her a lot more now.

Everything was going pretty well. That was, until I received a text from my mom telling me that she's coming home.

I told Lance about it at my house after school, "Should I tell her about you? Would she be okay with that? I mean, I'm pretty sure she's okay with homosexuality, but you can never be sure-"

He cuts me off with a kiss, "Don't worry about that, princess, it'll be fine. You can introduce me to your mom, and then I can introduce you to my family." He smiles like there's nothing wrong.

I sigh, "Lance you don't understand. It's not completely about being gay, I haven't talked to her in months, and she just comes back to her newly gay son with a boyfriend."

"I didn't even mention anything about it being bad because you were coming out. You'll be fine, I'm a charming person. I charmed you, didn't I, princess?" He smirks.

"Shut up. I guess she is pretty open to meeting new people, so it'll probably be fine. I'm still going to worry about it, though."

He laughs, "So when exactly is she coming home?"

"Tomorrow," I say with grief, "I have so many chores to do, I have to clean the house like I was supposed to while she was gone. I should probably make her dinner, since she'll be tired from the trip home, I need to get her some flowers. Gah! There's just so much I have to do!"

He chuckles, so let's get started! We can get the flowers and make the food tomorrow, let's start with cleaning. Where are your dusters?" He says, noticing the cobwebs in the corner.

I walk over to a closet where almost everything's falling out, "Somewhere in here, good luck, I'm going to get my room fixed.

He sighs, "Damn. This is going to take a while."
