I starred at the pages on the book but my mind processed nothing but her words.

One,Two

"I can't be with you"

Three, Four

"Shouldn't have expected more"

Five, Six

"Why did we ever mix"

Seven, Eight

"We have expire by date"

Nine,Ten

"This is our end"

A soft touch on my back pulled me from the torturing thoughts. I looked over blankly at the old lady before me.

"You've been standing there just looking at the same page of that book for five minutes now. Are you ok?"

I looked back down remembering I was indeed holding a book. I then re-took in my surrounding of the book store and sighed.

I sat it down and nodded at the old lady giving her a fake smile, but the best one I could manage. "Yes Ma'am I am fine."

I had just been lost in thought, thinking about the day my world came tumbling down is all. "You're sure about that young man?"

Without another word I turned around and made my way out of the store. Why I even came here I can't remember. It seems these days I can't do anything for myself. Not without her. I'm lost and broken.

"Cameron, you're going to be fine without me I know it." I shook her false words from my head. I tucked my hand in my pocket making sure the note was still there. I didn't want to read it again but I couldn't make myself throw it away. Her goodbye was all I had left of her. That, and the heartbreak she had left me with.

She was truly my world, more to me than even my friends at the time, I may admit. Every day was only getting harder.

As I walked to my car, my phone rang with Nash's name lighting up the screen. I silenced it. I knew what he wanted.

He wanted to take me out somewhere fun, try and make me feel better. Nash is my best friend, and I love him, but I don't want his help. It's not like it would work anyway. At this point I'm a loss cause.

My phone rang again as I started my car, this time Carter's name ran across the screen. He wasn't in LA was he? I thought he was in Florida at the moment. Maybe he came home yesterday. I wouldn't have noticed. I sighed, choosing to answer the phone.

"Hello?" I started the car, slowly pulling out of the parking Lott.

"Cameron Hey. You should come meet me and Nash at Vinnys."

Vinnys was a place Carter and I had discovered about a month after we settled down in Los Angeles. It was sort of like a resultant club but smaller and less busy all the time. It had a great atmosphere. The last time I had gone though, I had been with her.

"Carter I don't know I-"

"Am a total buzzkill, I know" , he said cutting me off. "But, we've got a lady here for you."

"You what?" I wasn't sure if I had heard him right.

"A lady. Real fine friend of mine."

I groaned, suddenly feeling a headache start to form. "Why the hell would you set me up on a date "Carter, You know I'm in no mood to date anyone else."

Carters happy fun tone disappeared and he sternly said through the phone "Cameron, she isn't coming back for you. Get over it. Try to have a little fun for Gods sake and stop moping around."

I didn't know what to say back to him. He was totally right. She was never ever coming back for me, and I do need to stop moping around. I just can't be happy though, she clouds my mind and literally makes it impossible for me to have a good time.

"Cameron listen. I'm not saying you need to date my friend ok, but she's expecting to meet Cameron Dallas so get your ass down here. And try to show up a little happy please."

I hung up, not taking my time to say goodbye. Then I did indeed make my way to Vinnys, the first event of my unknown serendipity to come.
