3rd person POV

*Flashback*

Why did this have to happen to me? That's what Taehyung thought at the moment. He sat on a wooden bench just outside the school. The cold breeze made him shiver and rub his hands together to create some sort of warmth for himself. He wasn't upset at being caught in the cold weather or at the fact that he didn't have anyway to get home. What troubled Taehyung was (Y/N).

(Y/N) plagued his mind but with that attraction came confusion, frustration, and anxiety. Taehyung knew she wouldn't want him. He saw the kind look in her eyes whenever he met them. While he liked that look, it wasn't the one he wanted. He want the same emotion in those (Y/E/C) eyes that he had in his.

Those touches (Y/N) gave him. They never lingered for too long. While he became flustered, (Y/N) would move on swiftly to her next point in the conversation.

While Taehyung didn't understand how to deal with the situation, he knew that he didn't want to stop talking to her. But why did that end up happening?

At first, he couldn't eat lunch with them. Then, he was busy after school and on the weekends. Eventually, Hana and (Y/N) stopped asking him to hang out because they knew he wouldn't be able to go.

It was a mistake. Taehyung knew that then and he knows it now. He hated that left such a caring pair of friends because he was too caught up in his feelings. Once he did cut off that connection, things weren't getting better.

It was back to lonely school days full of concealed feelings and silent nights at home, thinking about the past.

Hana and (Y/N) weren't doing well either. Hana was distraught over the loss of Taehyung's friendship. She trusted him and was opening up to him but he left. She wasn't as happy as before, she didn't smile as often. (Y/N) wasn't as emotional as Hana on the outside. She was angry. Angry at Taehyung for leaving them like that, especially seeing that Hana must have been attached to Taehyung.

It was a sight to see. Taehyung walking with his head down whenever the old group of friends passed each other in the halls. Hana would look at him with a glimmer of sadness in her eyes. (Y/N)'s jaw would clench and she wouldn't even spare a glance.

Taehyung reflected all of this on the bench outside of school. It was the last day before summer vacation. Although it was summer, it was a surprisingly cold day. He didn't want to stay at school but if he went home he would just think of the same thing there. The only thing what made him head to his apartment was because his school blazer was too thin to warm him in the cold weather.

(Y/N) pulled her blazer close to her body as she entered the school again. It was the beginning of a new school year. The third year of high school.

She made her way to her newly assigned locker to fix it up. It was surprising to see that not many students were at school yet. The halls were empty but (Y/N) knew they would be full of rushing students soon.

She arrived, twisting the new locker combination in slowly. "Ah, where is she?" (Y/N) whispered to herself. She slipped in her notebooks and binders. The slamming of a door brought her out of her calm state.

"Ah, (N/N)!" Hana ran up to her. She looked cute today with her black hair tied up in two space buns. She looked slimmer than last year but she still had the fullness of her hips and a little bit of a tummy. "Ready for our third year?" She said, holding up three fingers.

"Yes and no," (Y/N) replied, closing her locker. Hana looked at her confused as she lead the way to her own locker. "Well," (Y/N) began to explain,"I'm not looking forward for homework, annoying teachers, or anything along those lines."
