~I'd rather be heartless, than heartbroken~

Song of the Chapter: devil devil by Milck

I felt the need to burst out my anger. It was there and it had to be removed or sooner than later I will let it consume me. I clenched the dagger tighter in the crook of my palm, and hid in my sleeve before exiting the bedroom.

Hades was patiently leaning against the wall to my left, his face scrunched into a frown. He looked up suddenly, pitch black eyes immediately finding mine. But unfortunately for him, I broke the eye contact and instead moved for the nearby door. The devil instantly blocked my getaway, pushing his body like a plaque in order to prevent me from leaving.

"What have you done?" Hades raised his eyebrows examining me from every angle, like I was some sort of experimental guine pig that was there for his own purposes. He even sniffed the air like that has changed. I averted my pacing towards the window and took a look outside as the nightfall stretched into its full delightful bliss.

"Despite everyone telling me otherwise, I gave you a chance. You earned my trust when you saved my life." My whisper broke the surface, and I felt his cold breath on the base of neck. I didn't dare to look up at him even though his gaze was desperate for my attention.

Hades gave a few seconds to last as a pause before his mouth formed the next words.

"Why are you bleeding?" His intricate hand had an urge to lift my palm, exposing the wound that I've created myself.

"You knew." My voice cracked as I breathed the sharp words giving me a heartache. His hand wrapped tighter around my wrist as he turned me around.

"You have tried to remove my mark?" The way his tone flowed was cocky, dissolved with a high class arrogance. There was no sympathy in his eyes, no remorse.

"It didn't work. But I will try again, and again. I will get it off me even if that means I have to cut my hand off, don't you doubt me." I stared him down like the most vicious culprit out there. Hades was untrustworthy of anything. The devil did everything for the sake of his own.

"I would watch that." I slapped him across the face, hard. The red imprint was livid on his incredibly pale skin.

"You are selfish bastard, you made me sign up for a deal that wasn't even fair!" I yelled angrily as the Satan touched his burning cheek.

"Who said it was ever going to be fair? Life is unfair, something you should have discovered by now." Hades was fuming, I could tell. But I, I went insane. My whole system bursted with rage, it filled my core, my vision, it fully took over my lungs.

"How did she die?" I was trembling, my back was for his display as I gasped, sucking in air through my nostrils.

"Is this the moment where I should protect your delicate emotions?" His voice was manipulative. Hades wasn't just done, he wanted to torment me for longer. I ignored his stupid question and instead just stared at him.

"Selene crossed a river in my Kingdom. Lethe it's called, wipes every memory as well as your existence."

"I am kept in the darkness as people I hold close to my heart die. My mum, Jake, Gabriella almost died, and Megan and they're all in danger. All the damn time!" I felt breathless, my hands clawed at my throat feeling it clog up with bile.

"I brought them back." I shivered as his tongue escaped his lips and brushed against my cheekbone.

"Is this one of your games too?" I shut my eyes, his arms wrapped around my waist. Hades exhaled loudly bringing his chest directly against my back.
