Percy's POV

Clearwater, Florida

9 years.

9 years of peace.

9 years of freedom.

And most of all... 9 years of boredom.

I mean I used to be Percy Jackson, son Poseidon, two-time savior of Olympus.

But he died the day she ripped out my heart and smashed it.

Now I am Mason Davis. Using the blessing from Aphrodite, I now have dirty blonde hair that still can't be tamed, a beach tan, and 6'5". The only part of Percy Jackson that's still seen is my sea green eyes.

I know what you're all thinking 'why the Styx would I choose that name?' Well, it just kind of popped into my head and stuck.

After leaving Olympus I went to my mom's apartment only to find that she and Paul had been killed in a fire. I was devastated so I ran from New York to a place that was more... me.

I ended up here. Clearwater, Florida. It is peaceful and quiet. But that's the problem-Its too quite.

Trust me I still work out at the gym and I even learned all different types of martial arts: Taekwondo, Karate, Kickboxing, Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, Tai chi, etc.

In other words, I'm awesome.

But I missed the adrenaline I got from battle. I shook my head trying to clear my head and headed down to the white sanded beach.

When I got there I noticed a girl coming out of the water wearing a blue and white bikini. She had brown hair, tan, and she looked like she worked out quite often. I couldn't help but check her out.

"Are you just going to stand there gawking or are you going to come talk to me?" An angelic voice said

"Are you just going to stand there gawking or are you going to come talk to me?" An angelic voice said.

I looked her in the eyes for the first time and nearly wet my trunks.

She had the most beautiful silver eyes.

"Artemis?" I said in disbelief.

"How do you know my name? Have we met before?" I looked at her in confusion. Then it hit me like a brick. there was a rumor Artemis was missing... But this couldn't be the same Artemis, right?

"So you know my name but I don't know yours handsome." She said with a smirk. She was now about a foot in front of me.

"Mason. My name's Mason."

"I'm Artemis but I guess you already knew that." I looked at her in disbelief but snapped out of it.

"So what brings you to Clearwater?" She looked at me and smiled.

"Honestly I went to a bar and threw a dart at a map and it landed on these coordinates."

Dam the fates really do hate me (Yes I'm still on that joke. Deal with it!).

"So I guess you think I'm crazy for doing that huh?" She asked looking down.

"No. I just find it kind of funny that they landed on these exact coordinates."

"Welllll..."She started to say, "Not this exact coordinate. If I'm being exact its the beach house behind you."

I turned around looked right where she was pointing at. My beach house. I looked at her and opened and closed my mouth before anything came out.

"That's actually my beach house," I said. She raised her eyebrows in surprise.

"Wait really?"

"Really." I looked back at her and smiled. Maybe she was brought here for a reason. "Do you want to come inside?"

"Sure. As long as you don't kill me." She said with a serious face.

I couldn't hold it in any longer. I burst out laughing making her laugh.

"Come on," I said between breaths.

With that, we headed to my beach house.
