Third Person POVWhen the Hunt along with Artemis and Mason returned to Camp Half-Blood. The campers were confused as to why the hunt was okay with Mason and Artemis together. After a day, Zeus ordered the Hunt to track down Orion on the day of the Winter Solstice, December 21.
After months of looking and hunting down many monsters, the Hunt came up empty-handed. Not a trace of Orion.
Not one.
But Artemis wouldn't rest until he was dead and Mason was worried about her more than anything. Mason would try to get her to take a break or get her mind off of Orion but she wouldn't she had become obsessed with him.
Not only had Mason noticed, but everyone did.
Mason or rather Percy felt as though he and Artemis were growing apart.
At first, everything was as it was before, but it soon became about hunting Orion and killing him and blaming herself and sometimes even lashing out at him.
Percy felt he was losing her and wanted to get her back but everything he tried just wasn't working.
After a couple more weeks of going through the heartbreak he was feeling, he decided he needed to confront Artemis.
Percy's POV
Peshtigo River State Forest- Crivitz, Wisconsin
We've been hunting Orion for 8 months and we still haven't found Orion.
After 3 months Artemis got irritated and started lashing out at me at certain times and even referring to me as "boy" shocking not only me but also the hunt. It's like the women I fell in love with is no longer there.
I can't go on like this.
I can't let myself go through this.
I can't be broken again.
Now I'm going to Artemis' tent to talk to her about what I'm feeling and... us.
But is there even an us?
I knock on the post outside her tent and she says a tired-yet cracky- "come in".
I walk into her tent and see maps and clothes all of the floor of her tent and her looking through them with tired eyes.
"Artemis," I say making her look up and she rolled her eyes at me.
"What do you want?" She asks glaring at me.
"I want to talk to you." She stares at me with an annoyed expression.
"About what, boy?"
"Before we came back, Hades, before we started hunting Orion we were happy, you were rested, carefree, joyful, and most of all... the women I loved," I said not meeting her eyes with tears building up in mine.
"Well, this is the real me so I don't know what to tell you." She says standing up and jerking my face to look straight into her silver eyes that I fell for. "Look at me when I'm speaking, boy."
"Artemis you're different," I said looking straight into her eyes.
"So?"
"You have become obsessed with hunting Orion, Artemis. I look at you every day and I see the women I love but when I look closer I don't even see a speck of her."
"What do you know?" She spat at me with venom.
"I know the women I love is not the women started here now."
