Late Night practices

The sun was slowly falling down and melted into the skyline, making it explode in autumn colors. Dad was in his café down the street, while I sat in my room, playing the guitar. It felt so magical to play in the golden light from the sun. I had my steamy tea on my nightstand. My phone vibrated. I placed the guitar on my bed and opened my phone.

Finn: Hey Kara.

A smile grew on my lips while I texted back.

Kara: Hello

I waited for him to answer while drinking some of my tea.

Finn: There is this street festival tomorrow next to the park. Do you wanna come play?

Kara: Sure

Finn: It's only us and one of my friends named Malcolm. We wanted to practice tonight.

I said I really wanted to play tonight even though it was late. He gave me the address and I packed my guitar and grabbed my keys.

I ran all the way to the basement where they had their music room "hey" Finn said with his smile and hugged me. "Hey, you must be Malcolm" I hugged the other boy. "What are we gonna play?" we entered the room. It was a chill place. Two guitars and one electric were hanging on the wall. Posters of The Rolling Stones, Nirvana and many more hang all around the big room.

"A song named Do I Wanna Know. It's by Artic Monkeys. I'll be playing the drums. You play the electric guitar and Finn will sing." Malcolm said finding his drumsticks. "I love that song, but it's hard to sing isn't it?" I asked. "Yes, and that's why we are practicing" Finn said. They gave me the chords and lyrics. We began to play and it sounded pretty good. I looked at them with a smile, but they were to concentrated to look back.

"Have you got color in your cheeks' Do you ever get the feeling that you can't shift the tide" Finn had a special voice. It sounded dry but in a satisfying way. "Ever thought of calling when you've had a few? 'Cause I always do maybe I'm too busy being yours to fall for somebody new."

We played it around ten times, but then I remembered that I had forgotten to tell my dad I was out. I stopped playing so they turned their heads. "What's wrong?" Malcolm asked. I searched in all my pockets for my phone but I couldn't find it. "Sorry guys" I said taking my guitar, "I have to go" I ran out of the door and could hear Finn yell something behind me.

"10am at the park tomorrow." I ran and ran. It was really dark now and the rain didn't have mercy for me. My guitar and shirt got really wet.

I turned the key around in the key hole and opened the door slowly. He was maybe sleeping so I could just go to bed. But hen I turned around in the kitchen I saw him approaching me. "Where have you been?" he was really mad. "Sorry. I was just practicing guitar with two friends" I said.

"don't tell me you ran out this late" His voice calmed down. "But you're home now, and you have school tomorrow so get to bed now." "Actually," I said "there's this street festival tomorrow at 10am. Me and the boys are gonna play..." but he interrupted me. "...No, you are gonna go to school" He smirked. "You remind me of me when I was at your age, now go to sleep" He turned around and walked away.
