First gym battle

Your P.O.V

I blinked my eyes and hissed at the sunlight. " Whyyyyy?? Why does sunlight exist???" I whined after covering my head with the blanket of the hotel bed.

" Maybe cause we need it to survive?"
I heard a voice respond, it was probably Silver, unless a creep snuck in while I was sleeping, oh who am I kidding if it was I'd probably wake up and kick them in the face.

" Oh yeah, forgot about that, surviving and all that junk," I responded through my pillow.

"Get up."

" Heck no child not with that deadly Lazer called the sun in my face!"

" I will roll you out of bed onto the floor."

" You wouldn't dare"

" Wanna bet?"

I can feel a foot on my side and I am forcefully rolled to the edge of the bed. There is one last push and I am on the floor moaning in pain.
" Nuuuuuuu whyyyyy"

" Are you gonna get up" I can see Silver smirking slightly.

" Demon child" I muttered under my breath as I pulled myself up from the ground.

" Heard that" Silver walked out of the room " get ready so we can challenge the gym leader"

" Fiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnneeeee"

I looked in my backpack for the other change of clothes I had ( you have like 3 outfits, nothing fancy really, if you need something fancy you rent it, you pack light)

I pulled out a black T-shirt with a Pokeball in the corner, jeans, and boots. Nothing fancy, casual, just the way I like it.

I pulled out my Pokeball and sent out Cyndaquil.

It tilted its head in confusion.

" Hey buddy, sorry to wake you, I had to get up, no thanks to a certain jerk,"

" Heard that!" I heard a voice from the other side of the door

" Anyway, how are you feeling? Are you up for a gym battle?"

Cyndaquil simply nodded it's head and smiled at me.

I took a deep breath through my nose " YOU'RE SO FRICKIN CUTE" I grabbed Cyndaquil and hugged it super hard.

" Are you done yet (y/n)?" Silver leaned in the doorway.

" Yep!" I put Cyndaquil back in it's Pokeball " let's go!!" I pumped my fist in the air.

Most of the walk to the Pokemon gym was silent, I kinda just silently got more and more pumped up.

I asked Silver if I could do a battle first. He told me that he didn't really care.

So here I am... First gym battle... I can't tell if I'm happy, nervous, or super excited! But I owe it to my Pokemon to win this battle!

" I challenge you to a gym battle!" I unhooked my Pokeball with Cyndaquil in it.

" I accept !" The gym leader pulled out his first Pokeball

" Go Cyndaquil!! Start out with ember!!" I shouted and sent out Cyndaquil.

" WOOOOOO ooooh GUESS WHO GOT A GYM BADGE!!!! THIS GIRL!!!!!" I yelled probably annoying everyone in town, but hey I do that anyway so whatever!!

I ran up to Silver and wished him luck. Then I walked back to watch him battle.

"Totodile! Come on out! Use Water Gun!!" I heard him yell out. Totodile flawlessly follows his order.

" WOOOOOO Silver good job!!!!" I yelled. He just sighed and sent Totodile back into it's Pokeball.

" Whatever" he brushed past me

" Huh...?" Why did he...

" Silver...?" I asked him

" What?" He sped up his pace a bit

" Um... Are you ok?" I asked hesitantly speeding up as well

" Yeah... Yeah I'm fine.." he responded

" Then do you wanna head back to the  hotel and wait until tomorrow to continue on our way?" I asked trying to lift the mood slightly.

" You go back. I'm gonna go on a walk"

" Ok then..."

I'm not ok.

At all.

While I was battling, I remembered something.

This...this gap in my memory.

It's coming back to me.

Slowly.

And there was one thing I remember clearly.

A girl.

A little girl.
