Chapter Sixteen: Friends?

A few weeks has passed, Sweetpea avoided me like the plague. Every time he saw me in the halls, he would stare at me before turning around and walk away. Nobody else knew what happened beside Toni and Fangs, everyone else thinks we are in a big fight and not talking to each other.

Everytime I would walk into the Whyte Wyrm, I could hear all the other serpents making bets on how long it will take for us to start talking to us again. Hearing them, it takes everything in me not to break down and cry or yell at them.

"So what's going on with you and Cheryl?" I asked shaking my head of all the thought running through my brain, with a teasing smile on my face.

Seeing the slight blush on her face, I chuckled.

Toni rolled her eyes stopping us in the halls. "Nothing. Everytime I go near her, she says some nasty remark about me being a serpent."

"But you love it." I singed song. She blushed even harder.

"Isabella!" I heard an unfamiliar voice call behind me. I furrowed my brows, turning on my to face the person. There stood a smiling Northsider with his varsity basketball jacket. He had light brown curly and stood an inch or two taller than me. He's cute, I'll give him that.

"Yes?" I question crossing my arms. The guy shifted his light green eyes to the floor for a quick second before connecting with my grey ones.

"I heard you're no longer going out with that serpent and..." He stopped biting his lip nervously before continuing. "I was wondering if you would like to go out with me."

My eyes widened as I look towards Toni.

"You're Haze, right?" Toni asked eyeing the guy. He cleared his throat before nodding his eyes never leaving me.

"So what do you say?" He asked, hope filling his eyes as he waited. Just as I was about to say no, Toni interrupted.

"She would love too." She answered for me. I gave her a look pulling her arms turning from Haze.

"What the hell, Toni!" I whispered shouted at her.

She rolled her eyes. "Come on you and Sweetpea are no longer together and it already been a month. You need to get back into the game. Plus he's cute. Take a chance." She explained.

I sighed. "Fine."

We both turned back around facing Haze.

"I would love to go on a date with you Haze." I said putting on my best fake smile. A grin made its way onto his face.

"Tomorrow at 6, I'll pick you up?" He said. I chuckled shaking my head. Did he forget I live on the southside and I'm a serpent. They don't exactly like Northsider showing up on their territory especially after what happened with Archie.
