The taste danced across my tongue and I was in a happy place. I scooped more of the pasta into my mouth and savored it. "This is a definite."

"Is it?" Tanya Rooks asked writing it down on our menu.

"Yes and the chicken with the sauce." I said.

"OK, how about the ziti?" She asked glancing to Jesse and me.

"Um," I tasted it again and then looked at Jesse. "What do you think?"

"Yeah, the ziti too." He said shoving a noodle into his mouth.

    "OK, what else?" Tanya asked.

"That rice, that fish, that pasta, and oh, that cassarole." I said wiping my mouth with the green cloth napkin.

"OK." She wrote it all down on her paper. "If that is all, then you may go."

I got up and shook her hand. I trotted out to my car with Jesse trailing behind. "I love that food." I blurted when we were almost home.

A few minutes later I pulled into the driveway and went into the house. I sat in my room alone until my mom got home at about nine at night. But I was fast asleep.

                                                                            <>

The sun shimmered as I awoke. I pushed the covers off of my legs and stretched. I trotted down the wooden stairs into the kitchen for breakfast. I sat at the table lined with pancakes and toast. I drizzled syrup along the golden brown circles and ate them up.

"Lulu, Jenna said she is going to come over today." Mom said between bites.

"Um, yeah. Is that OK?" I asked. I hadn't ran it by her.

"Yeah, where is my headpiece and necklace Lulu?" Mom asked.

I nearly died. I totally forgot to pick them up. I ran upstairs, threw on shorts and a tee with converse sneaks. I dashed out hte front door and jogged to my car. i hopped in and started the engine. I bolted to the jewlery store.

I ran in and pushed to the desk. "I need the necklace I dropped off yesterday."

  "Name?" The man said.

"Lulu." I said, he had to of remembered me. These people don't get a lot of business because of their outrageous prices.

"Lulu, ok here you go." He said handing me the blue box back.

I checked it and it shined. "Thank you." I handed him a twenty to pay for the polishing.

I put the box in the glove compartment and I went to the headpiece store. I ran in and stood at the main desk tapping my painted nails on the marble.

"Can I help you?" A lady asked walking in.

"Yes, pick-up for Whitlock, Lulu Whitlock." I blurted.

"Oh, yes the hat. Here you go." She smiled and handed me the box that was now wrapped in a pink ribbon. "That will be forty dollars."

"Here. Keep the change." I handed her a fifty and ran out fast. I tossed the box on the backseat and sped home.

I was only out for ten minutes, I could of got a ticket for how fast I was going.

I pulled into the rocky driveway and grabbed both boxes. I walked in and handed them to my mother who sat at the table still. "Here is your stuff." I smiled and sat back down to my food. My soggy food.
