I was in the carriage with Anne,W.D and Phillip on the way to Buckingham Palace. (Yes Buckingham Palace!) I had to sit beside Phillip in case W.D wanted to start another fight. I was watching out the window, not looking at Phillip because I could feel his eyes glancing at me every few seconds. As we pulled up into the front courtyard I brushed down my dress and tucked a strand of my blue and purple wig behind my ear.
Phillip escorted me out of the carriage as we met everybody in the courtyard. "Alright,we will walk in just like we rehearsed,okay?" "Yes Sir!" I said with a laugh. "Alright then let's go!"he chuckled. We were led inside the two grand doors. As soon as we walked in I gasped. It was beautiful,full of paintings and ornaments. As we were led further into the palace I became more entranced by all the paintings. Soon we came to a stop and the man in the front told us to stay behind the corne "Your highness, may I present to you Mr.Barnum and his theatrical crew" That was when Mr.Barnum signalled for us to come around the corner. We walked out and some people gasped and some people were amused. Then Phillip said "Your Majesty, this is Mr.Barnum" He took a step back. "The pleasure is mine Mr.Barnum" she said as he bowed before her. Her voice was really British. "I have heard about your colonel from my friends in America and your trapeze trio can they come forward please?" Charles steps forward and says "General Ma'am" I stepped forward with Anne and W.D beside me on either side. "Why you're even smaller than I imagined!" she said noticing Charles height. "Well you're not exactly reaching the top shelf yourself,sweetheart" The queen looked taken aback. 'Great job Charles you blew our chance in front of the queen!' I thought. The press were going to call us way worse than they already call us when they find out about this. Then out of nowhere the queen started laughing. I must say she had quite a bad laugh. It sounded like she was more screaming then laughing. Then all the people around us started laughing as well. So I guess then we started laughing. To be honest I don't think any of us had a clue what we were laughing at.
Then she said to me "Would you mind showing us a flip or two?" I looked at Anne hesitantly but she nodded her head. "Of course but I just don't know how I am supposed to do it in this ball gown. "Oh don't worry honey."said Lettie stepping forwards. "I knew you would probably be doing some flips and things sooner or later so you can unclip the skirt of the dress and you should be wearing a leotard. Same for you Anne." Anne took off her royal blue dress and it revealed a Royal blue leotard.

After we got ready we just did a few flips and things because there was no trapeze we couldn't do much. "That was splendid!" praised the queen a red blush came across my cheeks as I tried to clip back on my skirt. Phillip and Mr.Barnum just hung around with glasses of champagne in their hands. I was trying to cover my arms with anything I could because I felt like people would stare at me if I showed of my dark skin. I could feel Phillips eyes on me the whole time but I was to shy to do anything right now.
Then all of a sudden the trumpets played and a lady with fiery red hair walked into the room. She curtseyed at the queen. "Is that...?" asks Anne. "Jenny Lind!" I say finishing her sentence. I have always been a fan of her but never did I think I would actually see her in person. The opportunities this job is giving me! Then I see Phillip and Mr.Barnum walk up to Jenny and I think they are having some kind of negotiation. Soon enough Jenny walks away and I ask Mr.Barnum what that was all about. He said we will be taking Jenny with us and we are going to see a one night show. I was so excited until I saw Phillips face. He was being judged again by W.D so I linked my arm in his hand walked up to W.D and said cheekily "got a problem?" I said with a smile knowing exactly what I was doing. "Not at all" and he walked away. "There ya go. He always listens to me. To be honest I think he is a bit scared of me!" I say with a smirk. This made Phillip laugh. "Goodbye!" I say running back over to Anne.
"It is so obvious,Emb" she says staring at me. "What is?" "You like him!" I do not "mhm" she says slyly. I got fed up at this and walked over to Mr.Barnum. "When are we going?" I ask getting tired. "Just now" he says. He called us all over and told us that we were leaving and thanked the queen for her kindness and generosity. "It was my pleasure" she said as she waved us goodbye. Once we got into the carriage I sat by myself on the other side. This time I was only in a carriage with Mr.Barnum and Phillip. I could feel my eyes start to close and soon I was asleep.
I woke up as Mr.Barnum was carrying me into the hotel. But I didn't open my eyes. I heard him say to Phillip,once we got up one flight of stairs "Can you take her from here?" "Sure"said Phillip. Soon enough I was passed over to Phillip who carried me gently back into the room. He lay me on the bed and walked over to the couch to sleep. I slowly unclipped my skirt so I would be asleep in my leotard. He saw the skirt fall to the ground and looked confused. "Thanks for the ride." I say which startled him and I lay down with a smirk on my face. I fell asleep once again.
