Chapter 14

Once I had everything ready, (my costume on and my wig pinned in) I got up off my vanity in my dressing room. I walked out the door of my dressing room and immediately people started telling me good luck. But I wasn't scared. The air was my favourite place to be. I thanked everybody before Lettie pulled me outside. "Be careful please?" She asked me with an anxious look on her face. "Of course." I said with a smile. Then she handed me this tube if glitter stuff. "Open them when you are falling down to your trapeze" she said with a smirk on her face. I didn't reply.

I knew what to do. I ran up the stairs and up to the roof. The window was already open. I heard a faint whisper of Phillip introducing me. Three seconds after he was done i would jump. '3,2,1' I thought to myself and then jumped down back into the circus. As I was falling I remembered what Lettie had said and I opened up the glitter tubes. As I opened them glitter flew everywhere and it looked like I was in some kind of new world. It was beautiful but I couldn't see where my trapeze bar was.

So I kept falling until I grabbed hold of something. So I went along with it. When it started swinging I knew it was my trapeze bar. Soon enough I could see everything again. So I started doing my flips again. The crowd genuinely looked scared. I launched myself over to the rope. Right now I would wrap myself around the rope and spin down. But I wanted to change it up a bit. I had already organised this with Lettie and she let down another rope to Phillip and he grabbed onto it. He had no idea what was going on he just went with it. He flew up into the air and over to me. We smiled at each other and I pushed him away sending flying backwards off the rope, W.D catching him by the hands and throwing him back onto the balcony. Then I wrapped my waist around the rope and spun down towards the ground. Once I reached the ground the crowd broke out into roads and cheers. I couldn't be happier. I took my bow and ran off stage.

I ran up to the balcony to thank Lettie and ran into something. As I was about to reach the ground I felt two arms catch me. "Why thank you Phillip." I said with a smile and pushed passed him. I didn't want any awkward encounters. He wouldn't let me go. "Please Ember just let me speak...." "Bye!" I say quickly running away.
Oh god!

Phillips pov

As Ember walked away I was hurt and disappointed. Then I stormed after her. She had run out into the woods. "Ember come back!!" I shouted she turned around to look at me. But then instead of running off in the opposite direction she ran back to me and knocked me over with a hug. "I am so sorry!" she said tears dripping from her face.

I shot up. I had fallen asleep in Mr Barnum's office. As I go downstairs I see it is the next day. Mr Barnum asks to speak to me in private. "Okay..." I say as he pulls me aside. "Long story short I am going on tour with Jenny." He said all in one breath. "What?! When?!" I say shocked that he is only telling me this now. "P.T our gates are down, we have more protesters than ever and you are just leaving us?!" I say anger radiating off of me. "Well it would be good for us.." He trails off. "Good for us?! We have been good all the time and now you are leaving and saying that we are good now?! I can't believe this!" I say confused at what has just happened. "Goodbye Phillip." He says and races off.

"What a sight for sore eyes." Ember says from behind me. Tears had been streaming down her face. She must have been listening to our conversation. She ran up to me and started shaking uncontrollably. I looked down and saw a picture of a family that had fallen out of her pocket. But once she saw it she ripped it to shreds. "Get away from me you filthy brother!" She screams literally shaking. I calmed her down and asked what had happened. "My brother hit my mother with his carriage...." "Oh god" I say cradling  her in my arms. Then all of a sudden she pushed me away. "What?.." I asked then she got sick in a bucket. "I feel a lot better now." She said trying to put a smile on her face. She got up and walked away from me not saying anything else.

'What is going on between us? I know we both like each other but every time we get close she just pushes me away again.' I thought to myself. I saw Mr Barnum running back up the stairs. I run over to him and I tell him my plan. 'God I hope this works.' I tell myself. As I say farewell to Phineas I can see Ember back up on the trapeze already. Her hazel eyes were twinkling from far away. I walked up to the balcony where we first met. I looked down at the circus. I am going to have to run this place for a while.

But my gaze was taken over with those hazel eyes again. How I long for those eyes to accept us. How I long for us to rewrite the stars.

Hello world. I know I have not uploaded in a while but Ireland has gotten a heatwave and I was just enjoying the sun while it lasted. But it is supposed to snowing next week. Guys I know i have said this a lot recently but we are so close to 500 reads and I couldn't be happier.
