Hats, Inventions, and Explotions

Yume, Ako, Aria, and Asahi were put in charge of telling Henry and Shelly about their plan. When they rang Henry was the one to answer the door. "Shelly is out back again," he told them, then proceeded to take them to the living room, a wonderful little room with paintings and bookshelves and a wonderful chandelier over head.

The four of them told him about their plan to tell the truth about them. He listened carefully to every detail and chuckled at a few parts, mainly the parts the children didn't think were funny at all until he started laughing.

"That is a very interesting plan you have there," he told them as he polished his glasses "But you really didn't need to go through all the trouble,"

"Yes we did!" said Asahi "Everyone needs to know the truth about you guys. And besides, I still feel bad about breaking your window,"

Henry chuckled again "It's fine, no harm was done,"

"Besides, it could be fun," said Ako "I'm actually looking forward to faking an injury, I have been practicing and I think I'm doing fairly well,"

"We believe in you Ako!" Aria cheered "The party is in two weeks, we're going to play for a while and then Ako will pretend to sprain her ankle and we'll come over here,"

"I knew I heard the bell!" Shelly exclaimed as she came into the room. She had dirt on her pants and gloves and her grey hair was pulled into a messy ponytail. "It's great to see you all again! Now let me see if I got this right, Yume, Aria, Ako, and Subaru?"

"Asahi actually," he corrected

"I'm sorry,"

"It's fine,"

"Shelly, these four are telling us about a plan they have," Henry told his wife

"Plan? What kind of plan?"

They re-told the plan to Shelly and she burst into uncontrollable laughter. "I'm sorry," she said "But this is so nice of you and ... your plan is very interesting,"

"I didn't think it was that funny," said Yume

"Sorry," Shelly said again, wiping tears from her eyes. "But you know, you remind me of Henry from way back,"

"We do?" They said in unison

Henry had that 'Oh boy' look on his face, knowing what Shelly was going to talk about. "You see, back when we were teenagers, Henry wanted to be an inventor. He came up with all these plans to make the world a better place until he blew up his garage,"

"He blew it up!?!" Asahi cried "are you serious?"

"Was everyone okay?" Aria asked

"Don't worry, no one was in there at the time," Henry assured them "However three weeks of extra chores sucked all my inventing dreams down the drain,"

"I'm sorry," Ako said with a hint of a laugh

"Don't be,"

The two weeks past by while everyone worried about the plan.

Would everyone show up?

Would they go with them when Ako pretended to hurt herself?

Would they all just run away?

What if the party was cancelled?

But it was too late to sit around and worry, the time for the party had arrived. The Nikaidos' and the Yukis' were the first to arrive, then came the R Twins.

"I brought the stuff!" said Rin as she dumped the contents of her bag onto the dirt. "I think that will be enough,"

"And we also have extra," said Subaru as he showed them his bag full of baseball equipment. "We're going to be fine,"

"I brought the drinks!" said Yuzu

"And I brought the snacks!" added Haruka "We have cookies, crackers, apples, grapes, chips, juice boxes, water bottles, lemonade, this is going to be some party!"

"And we have all the important stuff," said Rei "We even made these!" Rei reached into her bag and took out baseball caps with 'With Rin We'll Win' written in glitter glue on it. "Do you like it? It took a full 24-hours to come up with and I spent a week making all of these!"

"They're great," said Kanata "But you already chose yourself as captain?"

"No, we chose her!" said Yuzu "The other captain is Subaru!"

"Really? Awesome!" said Subaru "Does my team get hats?"

"No," The twins said in unison

"We were going make 'You'll Loose With Subaru' Hats but seemed really mean," said Rin

"Well any hat is better then no hat,"

They laughed as Ako, Kirara, and Madoka came over. "Hello!" said Kirara "Are you ready to play ball?"

"Sure are!" said Haruka "And check it out! We have cookies, crackers, chips, fruit, juice boxes, water bottles -"

"We have a lot of food," Rin interrupted "Glad you three could make it,"

"We wouldn't miss it!" said Madoka

"Who are the captains?" Kirara asked

"Rin and Subaru," Rei answered

"Great! Then can I be on a team with Ako and Madoka? PLEASE!!!"

Kirara fully adored Ako, and wanted to be with her wherever she went. Ako found this slightly annoyed but everyone told her to be flattered. "I wish someone would follow me in my glory," said Asahi. So Ako gave in.

"We'll do our best," said Rin "But I can't make any promises,"

Kirara began to beg to be on the same team as her friend and cousin just as Hime, Yume, Aria, Laura, Tsubasa, and Nozomu arrived. "Hello!" said Yume as her little sister scribbled in her notebook. "I'm super excited for the party! I can't wait!"

"I can't wait either," said Laura "So, which team is going to be winning?"

Rin walked up to her and placed the baseball cap on her head. "You might want to wear this," she said

Soon, everyone had arrived! And no one could be more excited for this turn out then the ones with the plan.

Then it came for the choosing of teams, Subaru chose Kanata, Tsubasa, Yozora, Yuzu, Haruka, Ako, Kirara, Aria, Otome, and Mahiru. Rin chose Rei, Asahi, Laura, Yume, Hime, Mikuru, Nozomu, Sakura, and Madoka.

"I'll be pitching first with Subaru at the bat!" said Rin "Alright! Let's play ball!"
