Chapter 5

Catherine's POV

We get home and Mum tells me to sit on the couch with my eyes closed. I do so and shut my eyes tightly.

"No peeking," Mum giggles setting something in my lap, "okay open your eyes now."

I open my eyes and see a small puppy in my lap. (Media)

"Aww! He's so cute!" I exclaim holding the little puppy close to me.

"Now, what will you name him?" Dad asks.

"Flash," I reply quickly.

My parents knew I wanted a boxer puppy. I always thought they were so cute!

"Thank you guys!" I smile.

"Now you'll have to take care of him okay?" Scorpius tells me.

I nod, picking up Flash and cuddling him close.

"I will never let anything bad happen to you Flashy Puppy. No one is going to hurt you on my watch," I whisper softly.

Before I knew it, I heard his soft puppy snores as he cuddles me. I smile as I set him down on my lap and kiss his little head.

"Catherine! It's time to get up honey," Dad calls.

I wake up in my bed, Flash's little body under the covers with his head sticking out. I smile as I get him up and get dressed.

"We need to hurry to the train station!" Mum calls as I get ready everything.

I grab my trunk filled with clothes and school things, then I grab Flash who is in his little cage. Hurrying downstairs with everything, Mum and Dad gets my things while I hold Flashy Puppy's cage.

We Apparate to the station and I hurry to get on with my things. I find an empty compartment and set my things down. Sighing, I plop down on the seat and relax.

Suddenly, I hear knocks on the compartment door. I look to see Lexi and the Youngbloods. Smiling, they open the door and sit with me.

"Hey guys! Glad to see you guys here!" I smile.

"Yeah," Alaric agrees.

"So, what House do you guys wanna be in? I already know yours Lexi," I smile.

"I wanna be in Gryffindor. It's the best House, after all Harry Potter was there!" Xavier informs.

Alaric groans, "Just because a famous person was in a certain House doesn't mean it's the best one!"

"I'm afraid I have to agree with Alaric. Hufflepuff is the best! So many good wizards came from there, including Newt Scamander!" I reply.

"Exactly! That's why I want to be in Hufflepuff," Alaric grins.

"Hate to burst your bubbles but Ravenclaw is the best House!" Lexi argues.

"I notice Slytherin isn't being thrown about in this debate."

I look over to see a girl with brown hair and tanned skin enter the compartment.

"I'm Calarook, Demi Calarook," the girl introduces, "and I believe Slytherin is the best house!"

"Slytherin produced the most evil wizards out of all four Houses. I wouldn't call that worthy to boast about," Xavier says.

"Xavier! It's true but let's not be stereotypical," I reply.

"Well, if it's not Catherine Malfoy! Daughter of the two third most famous witches and wizards of Slytherin House," Demi smirks, "I wouldn't be surprised if you'd get in Slytherin."

"Just because my family had been sorted into Slytherin, doesn't mean I won't be sorted differently," I scowl.

"I guess but it's in your blood," Demi says as she walks out of the compartment.

"🎶It isn't in my blood!🎶" Alaric sings.

We all burst out laughing as we start to get our robes on. I love my friends so much...
