Chapter 1. Sophia

I tossed the paper away after reading the instructions for the hundredth time. My friend, Ezmeralda handed me the magic torch that we will be using to put the plan into action. Pinihit ko ang lighter na ibinigay sa akin ng ilang beses bago lumabas ang isang kulay pulang apoy. Nakatingin ko rito na may kasamang ngiti sa maiitim na mga labi. I looked back and saw Ezmeralda smiling the same. Mukhang hindi lang ako ang natutuwa sa gagawin naming ito.

"Here comes our revenge to your boyfriend, Ez," I said raising the lighter up as if announcing. "Boys should not take us girls lightly."

Nasa isang parking lot kami na may ginagawang paghihiganti. Ezmeralda is my sister, it is just that we were born with different mothers. We met when we are still in kinder and somehow our friendship sparked something. Kaya ngayon, kahit nasa high school na, magkasama pa rin kami. We are best friends before the world is created. Wala nang makakapaghiwalay sa amin.

"Sis, parating na sila," turo niya sa isang grupo ng kalalkihan na naglalakad papunta sa direksyon namin. The one leading them is Alvin, Ez's former boyfriend. Around him is three more guys whom were his friends.

"Okay, let's start the party," I exclaimed.

Naglakad kami ni Ezmeralda papunta sa harapan ng kotse ni Alvin na agad umagaw sa atensyon nila. All of them paused, as if not expecting us to be there. Tinignan kami ni Alvin na nakakunot ang noo. They all did. But somehow, their faces are scared. Just by knowing that their car is under our possession, the fear must have been in climax. Especially now that I am here, and it is me.

"Good to see you again, boys," I said, waving a hand to them.

"What do you want?" He immediately asked, getting catious around us.

"Wala naman... Just wondering why the hell you existed," I said, showing them the lighter I got. "I heard you love something explosive?"

"No... no, no..." Sabi niya na tila ba hindi makapaniwala sa nakikita.

"Why? I'm just holding a lighter?" I grimaced.

"Get away from my car!" Sabi niya na nagsimula na kaming sugurin. I didn't waste time and started laughing when I threw the lighter inside the car.

Agad kaming tumakbo ni Ezmeralda papalayo sa kotse. Hindi pa nakakalapit si Alvin sa kanyang sasakyan nang biglang may sumabog mula sa loob nito. The fire crackers that we set inside the car started popping one by one causing a loud noise around us. Nagsitunugan ang mga alarm ng mga sasakyan na katabi ng sasakyan niya at ang mga tao ay napapatingin na rin sa kung saan galing ang tunog. Alvin was pulled out by his friends before he gets injured from the firecrackers.

"Oh shit- where are they?" Galit na tanong ni Alvin na halos nagwawala na.

Tinignan niya ang paligid at nakita kaming nakatayo ni Ezmeralda sa di kalayuan. His face is filled with rage. I smiled in content, throwing a middle finger in his face.

"You bitch!"

He pulled away from the grasp of his friends as he started running towards us. His friends came running after him. Tumakbo na rin kami. They thought we just did it for fun? Of course, we did. But we also have a plan. Sa tingin ba nila gumawa lang kami ng plano na walang escape plan?

Tumakbo kami sa kabilang parking lot na kung saan nakalagay ang mga sasakyang motor. I quickly found a black motorbike at the very end of the line that was owned by my older brother. Agad kong kinuha ang dalawang helmet na nasa handle at ibinigay ang isa kay Ezmeralda na sumusunod sa akin.

I sat on the front and turned the key on, waking up the motor in no time. I tested the turbo machine while I waited my friend to sit behind me. And when everything is set, I turned the button to drive and started playing the turbo in full.
