Gonna get a little referencey in here, as well as the one guy from last chapter. "Thomas" Tom Kirkman was a reference from Designated Survivor and a character in here is from Archer. Anyways, here's chapter 2!

~Previously~

"Officer!" a familiar voice called excitedly "That was great!"

"What are you doing here?" he asked sheepishly

"What do you think?" she smiled at him. "All aside, I do need some help, if you're not busy."

"Of course I'll help, what is it that you need help with?"

Samuel King was in Donna Laws' office; searching for the paper she needed that her partner's final work on it. He noticed a sheet of faded blueprint paper, the director name, Arrie Irdale.

'So this is what Donna is looking for,' Samuel thought to himself, finding his dusting kit.

It was a design for a new section of the museum. He examined it further and was amazed at the work of Donna's partner. It was simple, but complicated. He wondered if Donna was working on anything big like this, he would have to ask her later.

"I found what you were looking for, Ms. Laws. Aren't you on the design team as well?"

"Not really, no. More just like extra hands to do other things." She sighed

"Why don't you try fighting to join them, then?"

"Because I don't want to cause trouble. It's fine, really."

"Ms. Laws?" the director was standing behind her.

"Y-yes?" she squeaked, unaware that her boss was watching her.

"I'm promoting you to Design Manager."

"But I just got here! Isn't that a little-"

"Ms. Laws, I'm willing to give the position to someone else if you don't want it."

"Of course I want it! Thank you!" Samuel smiled before turning around to leave.

"Officer," he turned around to face her, Donna was looking dead center at him.

"Yes?"

"I never did get your name."

He turned around again and began to walk away. "Samuel King. Good luck."

"Thank you, Samuel."

"Anytime, Donna."

Samuel arrived back at the station where Chief Reyes was waiting for him. He had a feeling she was going to fire him.

"Good work, Officer King."

He relaxed a little. The Chief watched him. "You can clock out early today if you like." She left him to think about it.

"Hey King." Sterling Archer, another recruit said. "I saw you with that Donna chick outside the court room, you two dating or something?"

"How could I date someone I've only known for six hours?"

"So you're not dating?"

"Oh my God what the hell is wrong with you?" Samuel complained

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Archer shot back. "I mean she was clearly in to you."

Samuel quickly grabbed his keycard and clocked out Archer close behind. He groaned and walked into the parking lot before finally turning around, tired of this charade.

"What do you want?" he growled

"Just go for her! You were in to her, too! I mean not balls deep but still."

"Oh my God why don't you just date her then so you can leave me alone?" Something inside Samuel snapped. He wasn't liking where this conversation was going.

"Not my type. Besides I think I saw your idiot partner eyeing her earlier."

"You've got to be kidding me!" he groaned, "That's it, I'm going."

He got into his car and left, not wanting to deal with Archer's idiocy. "Hey, wait! You forgot your-" Samuel had already left "-handcuffs."

As Samuel drove home, he wondered if Archer was right. Did he really like Donna Laws? He shook his head and focused on the road before him. 'No, no. I can't be!' Did he believe himself? A part of him wished he was with her at every waking moment of his day. 'I can't be in love with her!'

He pulled into the driveway and got out of the car. Finding his house keys, he unlocked the door to get in. 'Why am I missing her now?'

"Dammit." He huffed and slammed the door "Archer's right."

He had an idea. Tomorrow he would visit her on his lunch break, if he has one, and see what she really thinks about him. Then they could work their feelings out themselves without having to rely on their partners or any other idiots they may be working with. For some odd reason he hoped she had feelings for him and Archer wasn't making shit up, which he was really good at doing.

Lunch break came around quickly the next day. A little too quickly, he still had no idea how to ask her! Fixing his messy blonde hair, he quickly told the Chief he was going to lunch and left. Samuel blinked. The Nautical Museum was a mess! What had happened here?

"Where is Laws?" the director demanded

"Can't seem to find her anywhere, boss." A man said walking out of what looked like an office. "But there's something else there, too. Don't know what it is-"

There was an explosion in the museum. Everyone and everything was thrown around, Samuel himself was thrown into a receptionist desk. Something heavy fell on top of him and he could not move it.

'Probably for the best if I didn't move' he thought 'Ouch, something hurts' Everything went black for a moment.

The heavy object was lifted off him a while later. The explosion had destroyed everything in the museum. King was shaken awake. "Wha-" he began, shakily sitting up. He was laying in an ambulance.

"Where is Laws?" the director demanded a firefighter outside.

"We haven't found anybody else yet, ma'am. Please stay calm."

Donna was still missing. That wasn't good. Samuel jumped out of the ambulance he was in and ran for the destroyed building. He heard the firefighter calling for him.

"Officer!"

'No, she can't be missing!'

He looked around the building nervous that something had happened to her. Seeing an untouched table in the corner and a small groan, he ran over to it to get it off whoever was under it. The table was heavy; the person under it had to have broken something. Once he had moved the table aside, he saw a tiny form resting underneath it.

'Oh, no. No!'

"Donna!"

I love cliffhangers, don't you? He he. And just like that the cliffies start. OC request time!
