Blue reflectors bounced off the water, and shown the rays of the morning sun. Birds chirped, mermaids sang, fairies flew a touch to quickly. A unicorn pranced in the prairie.
Poking his head slowly above the water, the first sight of the day for Aquarius to behold were two rabbits screwing in a wooded-most part of the beach. His laugh gave away his location, and Alizeh swooped in fast.
"Ha!" She exclaimed. "Found you"
"Wow" he said sarcastically. "You found a merman in his native habitat. The water!"
Splashing water up at her, Alizeh put her arms up in protest. Her magic touch was air, and she usually over-did it. The gust of wind coming the little fairy was enough to send the water around Aquarius into a frenzy.
"Easy!" He shot back at her.
"Oh sorry!" She said quickly. "You know I don't mean it"
Sometimes he wondered.
"Wind like that is enough to wake the dragon" Aquarius said, crossing his arms.
"Have you ever actually seen the dragon?" She asked, using air quotes.
"No" he had to admit.
Nobody had. Not for some time anyway. Not much was known about 'the dragon' of course there were plenty flying around at night. However according gossip over heard by Alizeh, there was a specific dragon that closed himself away within his cave. And only came out to find food, which wasn't often. Gossip claims that he'd only ever eat fried tails of mermaids.
"So stop worrying" she sang.
"I don't see your body ending in fins" he shot back.
"Fair point" she said, sitting in the air.
Bright orange dust fell down from her flapping wings, and stung Aquarius' eyes. The particles soon piled about his head, and somewhat altered the natural teal of his hair. He looked up at her, raising an unamused eyebrow.
"Sorry" she said, adjusting her position.
He exhaled hard, blowing a longer piece of his hair from his left eye. A somewhat mer-person signature by now. But it seemed to make her quiver. It didn't take a genius to figure out, that she had a crush on him. She never did have the nerve to act upon it anyway though.
"Can I ride you?" She asked, adding a smile.
"What?" He asked. Aquarius knew what she meant, but he also liked the sarcasm.
"Not like that" she rolled her eyes.
"Yeah sure, hop on" he said, gesturing.
Laying on his stomach, Aquarius' fin that ran up his back peeked up from the water. Alizeh would sit at his middle, and hold on to the blue-green fin.
"All set?" He asked, looking back. She nodded.
Without warning, he took off. Speed-swimming was one of his talents, among fooling his friends that he liked girls.
