Co-ed dorms.

I checked the paper in my hand, only to see the same information written.

My dorm was on Grace hall, which was a co/ed building. Meaning my roommate was a guy.

I open the door to my dorm, seeing my few boxes that had been brought up. I decide to move them away from the bed they were by, I'd rather have my roommate get first choice. I stack them in a neat pile, placing the backpack I'd been carrying on top.

I pull a book from my backpack, deciding not to leave incase my roommate arrived. Leaning against the wall, I open the book and begin reading.

The only time the silence of the room is broken is when I flip the pages of my book.
That is, until the door opens.

Looking up when the door closes, I see a raven haired guy standing there. I take notice to the new boxes that had appeared by a bed.

"Hi..." I state, making him look over to me.

The guy turns around, his hazel eyes searching the room before finding mine. He gives a small smile and a wave.

"Hello." He greets, and I move into an uncomfortable position against the wall.

"I'm y/n." I clarify, making him shift his weight from one leg to another.

That's when I realized that this was probably going to be the most awkward year of my life.

"What are you doing?" Gerard asks, making me look back to where he's reading a comic book.

"Going to get my socks from the dryer." I answer, making him look up from his comic.

"Just your socks?" He questions, making me smile.

"They wouldn't dry so I had to put them back in." I explain, shrugging.

I walk out of our dorm, making sure the door was unlocked.

Once I return to my dorm, I toss the socks in a drawer and crawl onto my bed.

"You look so tired." Gerard comments.

"I feel tired." I yawn, turning my head against my bed.

"Take a nap." He suggests, "I'll wake you up for dinner."

"You don't have to do that." I say, making him look at me.

"Yeah, I'm gonna wake you up for dinner." He restates.

*Whoop whoop another 4 months later*

"I can't believe this is the last week of school." Gerard realizes as I walk into our dorm after a class, "I've gotten so used to being here, it's gonna be weird going home."

"Yeah." I agree, "It's definitely going to be weird. I'm so used to you laughing at comics in the middle of night."

"I do not!" He claims, smiling.

"Yes, you do!" I laugh, "but now it's going to be weird not hearing you laugh."

"I think you forget we're still going to attend the same college." He reminds me, making me shake my head.

"That's not what I meant." I state, sighing.

"Then what did you mean?" He asks, tilting his head slightly.

"I mean that throughout the year I've gotten so used to you being around me. I moved a lot ((Sorry if you didn't, go with it please.)) and I never had enough time to make a lot of friends, or really get used to them. But, after a few awkward weeks I actually got used to you. I no longer had you sorted as a stranger in my brain. And I'm gonna state this for a fact," I explain, realizing how sappy it was gonna be, "I've learned more from you than I have this school."
