The Secret Couple

Chapter 5

Rob's POV

I woke up before anyone else and saw that Julian was sleeping on Danny. I didn't really think anything of it and just made my way into the kitchen. I grabbed an apple and walked out. Everyone was still sleeping so I decided to eat my apple and then brush my teeth.

After I was done eating my apple I decided to go work out and let everyone sleep. Before I started working out I my headphones on and blared my music. Then I started working out. First I did sit-ups to work on my abs then I went to the ropes and did pull-ups and push-ups. I ran on the treadmill and I bench pressed 125 pounds. I worked out for about an hour. I turned my music down and looked toward the entrance of the gym. Julian was standing by the doorway. "How long have you been standing there?" I asked.

"For only about five maybe ten minutes. I didn't want to scare you while you were working out. Then I zoned out for a couple of minutes," he rambled on.

"Is everyone else up?"

"Only Danny and I, your girl is still sleeping."

"Well why don't we head down and get something to eat."

He nodded and we walked downstairs to the living room to see Danny on his phone and Julia still sleeping. Danny looked up when Julian and I entered the living room. "When Julia wakes up we'll leave and go back to my place."

"It's fine man don't worry, if you want you could just stay here."

"Nah it's fine."

Julian walked into the kitchen to get something to eat. That's when Danny spoke up. "Hey, um, can I talk you," He said looking toward the kitchen before he finished.

"Yeah," I said as I looked over near the kitchen.

Danny looked back at me. "I need some advice about something."

He kinda trailed off like he didn't want to tell me what he was about to say but it looked like he really needed the help. "Promise me you won't tell ANYONE," he told me emphasizing the word 'anyone.'

"I promise and you know Danny I never told anyone any secrets you told me. Especially the one were you told me you were-" He cut me off by putting a finger to my lips.

"Thank you and so as I was saying I need help because well," he trailed off trying to find the right words. "Well I like this person but I don't know if they like me back and it will be kind of weird if we both did like each other. And it might also destroy both of our careers."

"Well do you really like this person?"

"A lot and it kind of scares me because I've been friends with that person for a long time."

He made sure the details he gave me wouldn't give up the person he was talking about. "Well if you like that person then maybe start slow and if that's what you've been doing then maybe take them out or get drinks and tell them or maybe just watch a movie at the house or whatever makes you comfortable and tell them what you feel."

He looked back toward the kitchen and I did the same. I saw that Julian had come back with a plate of food and Danny quickly went in his phone so it looked like we weren't talking. I turned my attention to the tv. Nothing good was on and we were watching the news so it was boring.

Danny's POV

After I told Rob about the problem I'm having I notice Julian coming back into the living room and I didn't want to look at him. I just looked at my phone trying to find some app to keep myself busy. Julian sat next to me of course and nudged me. "You alright?" He whispered.

I looked up at him and said "yeah? Why?"

"You just look like something's bothering you."

"Everything is fine," I said with a shyly smile.

I looked back at my phone and just looked threw instagram to find something interesting to keep me busy. Julian finished eating his food after about 15 minutes and got up to go back to the kitchen. Just as Julian was out of sight Rob opened his mouth. "You need to stop and talk to him about this."

"Now is not the time."

"Well at least don't act like this until you tell him."

He had a point. I was being a jerk to Julian for no reason. Julian came back into the living room shortly after and sat next to me. I said "Julian I'm sorry I was acting like this. How about I make you dinner and I'll tell you why I was acting like that."

He nodded. He didn't say a word to me and I couldn't blame him. Just after that Julia woke up and Rob and her left shortly after. After they left Julian got off of the couch and grabbed the keys to one of the cars and left. He didn't say a word before he left and I was feeling guilty because I know I did this to him. So while Julian was out I decided to go into the kitchen and figure out what to make. I know Julian loves seafood so I decided on making swordfish with some grilled asparagus, a salad that had spinach, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and red onions. I also made some mashed red potatoes. I half way threw making everything and I had just finished setting the table when I heard my phone ring. I picked it up from the counter and answered it. "Hello?"

"Is this Danny Amendola?"

"Yes? Who is this?"

"I'm officer Smith, I was calling because there was an accident that involved your car."

I started panicking. I made sure the stove was turned off and I was grabbing my keys. "Where? Is Julian still there?"

"Julian is on his way to the hospital, I'm sorry that this happened."

"Thank you officer."

"I'll come by the hospital tomorrow to tell you everything."

"Thank you," I said again.

He hung up and I pulled the car out of the driveway and drove to the hospital. The drive seemed long because all I could think about was Julian and how bad he could be hurt. I decided that I would send a text to the team when I got to the hospital. Finally after what seemed to be over an hour I arrived at the hospital. I walked up to the front desk and asked "where is Julian Edelman?"

"Are you family?"

"I'm close enough, he's mother and father are flying out from California and I'm his best friend."

"He's in surgery right now."

"Do you how bad it is? Is there a doctor I can talk to?"

"I'll let you know as soon as I can get a doctor to talk to you, but right now you should go wait in the waiting room."
