Danny's POV
I went into the waiting room and sat down in a seat. I put my head in hands and sat there in silence, waiting.
The hardest thing in life is to wait. Especially when it could be life or death. I kept looking at my phone every minute or two.
Finally I decided I couldn't just sit there anymore and I decided to walk around. I walked around the hospital not looking for anything in particular. I'm just trying to do something other than sit in those chairs. They are so uncomfortable.
After about an hour I made my way back to the waiting room. I saw Rob and Tom sitting in the chairs. I walked over there quickly. "Did you hear any news?"
"Nothing yet."
A little sigh of relief came over me. I'm just glad nothing changed while I was gone. I would want to be the first one to know if anything happened to Julian. I sat down next to them and waited.
I was in the waiting room for about three hours just sitting there doing nothing but waiting. I looked at my phone and saw how much time had passed. It was almost 10 pm. I didn't even know that, that much time had passed. I got up from the chair and everyone looked at me. I paced back and forth, from one side of the room to the other and just kept doing for a good half an hour.
Finally after almost four hours a doctor came to talk to us. "Are you the family and friends of Julian Edelman?"
"Yes we are his teammates and closest friends," I told the doctor.
"Did his family get contacted?"
"Yes they should be here within the hour," Tom spoke up. "They just texted me saying they got off the plane."
I looked at my phone and realized I got that text too. Actually everyone did because Julian's parents put all of us in a group chat to see if anything changed. "He is almost out of surgery, we are just closing him up. He did pretty well throughout surgery. We had a little complication."
I felt a wave of relief wash over me. Knowing that Julian did well during surgery was great. "Could we go see him when he's out for surgery?"
"I'll see how he is afterward and come and let you know."
"Thank you so much Doctor...." I trailed off not knowing his name.
"Parker."
"Thank you so much."
He walked away and back threw those double doors. I sat down knowing that everything was moving in the right direction.
Shortly after the doctor came out to tell us the news Julian's parents walked into the waiting room. I practically jumped out of my seat and walked over to them. "Did anything change?" Julian's father, Frank, said.
"He should be out of surgery by now and in the recovery room," I told them.
Julian's mother, Angie, was trying to put on a brave face but I could tell that she was going to breakdown at any moment.
"Come sit down," Tom said mentioning over towards our seats.
"I'm fine thank you," Frank said.
Angie on the other hand took a seat and I sat right next her.
Shortly after Julian's father took a seat next to his wife and was holding her hand.
We all sat in silence for the rest of the night.
I sat in that waiting room all night with just Rob and Julian's parents. Tom went home around 12:30 or 1 because he wanted to home for when Gisele and the kids wake up. The rest of the guys went home and said to call if we got any news about Julian.
