Danny's POV

After the doctor delivered the great news everyone seemed a little happier and some of the tension was removed. We all sat in the chairs waiting for someone to bring us to go see him. Everyone was becoming more and more impatient by the second.

After about thirty minutes a nurse came out and brought us all in to see Julian. As we walked down the hallway I got more and more anxious. We finally arrived at his door. I looked threw the window to see how he was.

One of his feet was in a cast and his face was bruised. He looked really bad. Lucky his hands looked fine. Everyone walked in while I stood there frozen. Seeing him like this was horrible. I wanted to break down and cry but I couldn't. Not in front of his parents. I gathered up the courage to walk in there and sit down in a chair next to him. I put my elbows on his bed and placed my hands on his right hand. I was praying and hoping that he would wake up soon and just be alright. "Danny?" Rob shook me.

"What?"

"The nurse said that doctor Parker should be in soon to tell us more about what happened."

"Ok."

I didn't have any emotion. Just seeing Julian like this broke my heart. That is my best friend in that bed fighting for his life. I felt so bad and guilty. "Danny, Tom and the boys should be here soon. I'm gonna go home and take a shower and get new clothes on. I'll be back in less than an hour."

"I'll let you if anything changes."

"Thanks man."

He got up and left. I just sat in the chair holding his hand for awhile until doctor Parker came in. "How are you guys?"

I just stared out the window not wanting to engage in any conversation. "Fine I guess," Julian's Father said.

"I'm here to tell you guys what happened," he started off. "When he got here Julian was in a pretty bad state. His leg was broken and he had internal bleeding but after surgery he had a complication and we had to open him back up and stop more internal bleeding. Julian was unconscious when he got here and hasn't woken up since. Hopefully he will wake up soon and tell us what happened. All we know about his car was it was rolled over and it's total. There was another car involved and the woman in the car wasn't badly injured. Do you have any questions?"

"Do you know if I was Julian's fault?" I asked looking towards the doctor.

"As far as I'm concerned it wasn't his fault, hopefully we will know more soon when he wakes up."

No one else asked questions. We all sat there in silence. Julian's dad was rubbing his wife's back trying to comfort her while he just looked at Julian crying. I sat across from them just looking at his face and holding his hand.

I heard the door open a little later to see that the guys came to see Julian. Most of the team just came to see how he was doing and say a few words. Most of them left within a half an hour. Rob, Tom Coach and Robert Kraft stayed. Robert couldn't stay for that long he still stuck around to see how Julian's parents were and how everyone was doing. He had to get back home to his family. Coach stayed for the night along with Rob and Tom.

"What did the doctor say?" Rob asked.

"Long story short that Julian should wake up soon."

"That's good."

It went silent again for a little while before Coach spoke up. "Did you guys eat at all today."

He was talking about me and Julian's parents. They both looked at him for a second then back down to Julian. "We aren't hungry but thank you Coach."

"That wasn't my question." He said sternly.

I looked at Julian's parents and they didn't say a word. I hesitated "Y-yes."

"That sounds like a no."

"Like a said before we aren't hungry so who cares if we ate already."

I was getting annoyed. "I'll go get some food for you guys."

"Not me I'm not hungry," I made sure to empathize the 'I'm not hungry' part.

He walked out with out saying anything back. After he left the tension started to diffuse and everyone was a little calmer. He came back in with some cafeteria food and placed it in front of me, Angie and Frank. I pushed the food away along with both Angie and Frank. "You guys need to eat." Rob butted in.

"So does Julian but do you see him eating?" I snapped.

"They are giving him fluids and whatever else he needs through those tubes." Coach Bill said.

"Well then that's how you'll need to feed me because I'm not eating regular food until Julian can." I was getting more and more frustrated with the both of them.

"Alright fine we'll stop but you will eat something tomorrow," Rob said.

I rolled my eyes and sat next to Julian. I was aggravated and pissed off with those two. They obviously have never been in this situation. Shortly after the heated conversation it was getting really late and both Bill and Rob were yawning getting tired.

Shortly after they fell asleep. I could feel the tension being lifted and knew that everything would be fine for right now. Julian's parents and I stayed awake all night hoping he would wake up.

By the morning nothing had changed. Rob woke up around 7:30 and went to go get coffee and food for all of us. I haven't really eaten much the past few days. I've been anxiously waiting for Julian to wake up.

Not even five minutes after Rob left Julian woke up. "Where am I?" He asked.

His mother and father both squeezed his hand tighter. "The hospital," they told him.

They both had a smile on their face. I went to go get a nurse or doctor. It was the best feeling having him wake up.

As the doctor and I were walking back to the room, Rob shouted. "Danny what happened?"

"Julian woke up," I stopped to help him.

We made it back to the room and everyone had a smile on their face and was just overall happy that Julian had finally woke up.

The doctor asked Julian multiple questions and tried to figure out what happened. It turns out the driver in the other car was speeding and hit Julian's car. Thankfully no one died only Julian got seriously hurt.

After an hour the doctor walked out with his clipboard and everyone was happy and talking to Julian until he fell asleep.

Even while he was sleeping everyone was happier. And his mother and father finally got a little bit of sleep while Julian was sleeping.

Everything was getting better and everyone was happier. This is what everyone needed.
