They wanted to know
Who she was
So they looked
They looked at her belongings
So they listened
They listened to her ringtone
So they searched
They searched for one little flaw
And yet they never looked
Never in her eyes
They never listened
Never to her voice
They never searched
Never for that little goodness
Still left in her
After all she went through
They thought they knew
So they treated her like that
They thought they understood
So they stopped looking
And yet
She started to change
To fade away
And yet
They never noticed
Too convinced
That the picture in their heads
Was the real one
They never looked again
For they marked it true
Even when she changed
They acted the same
And they never noticed
What that was doing to her
For you never know
What you did to those
You failed to look at
