Chapter 7 - Wednesday/ Thursday

Qualeb turned quickly to stare at me. I continued: "When you are next to me, I feel safe and I could sleep on the couch the other day. So I was wondering... I was wondering if you stayed next to me and slept in the same bed, I might be able to sleep. I'm so sorry to ask but I'm just getting more and more tired and not sure what else to do. I mean if you don't want to I totally understand. I might go to the doctors and ask for some sleeping tablets or something if you don't mind. Argh.. even then I need your help."

I gazed at his eyes to see what he would say. I told him: "I need you!"

Qualeb got up and took me in to his strong arms and carried me into my room upstairs. He helped me get ready for bed and then went to get changed himself and brought his cream. I applied the cream for him, my fingers lingering on his skin, marvelling on the heat and hardness of his muscles.
I went to sleep under the covers after washing my hands and I was scared whilst waiting to see what Qualeb would do.
He sat next to me, gazing deep into my eyes and asked me: "Are you sure you want me to stay?"
My throat felt so dry and I didn't think I could speak so I just nodded my head. He scooped closer to me but stayed on top of the covers. He laid down and then waited for me. I also rested my head on the pillow, aching and wishing that it was his arm that I could be sleeping on. He was lying on his arm, so I moved a bit closer, so I could feel his warmth through the thin cover. My face was facing his chest and I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

I awoke to a weight on my tummy. When I opened my eyes, I realised that Qualeb was also under the cover. My wish from last night had come true, because I was sleeping on his arm, still facing his chest, which was rising and falling while he was in a deep sleep. His other arm was over my tummy and somehow our legs had gotten intervined. I took another deep breath and snuggled closer to this amazing man, trying not to wake him.

The next time I awoke, Qualeb was still sleeping. He looked so peaceful and handsome. I was so tempted to kiss him again on those soft and firm lips of his.
Before I would do something stupid, I tried to gently wiggle out of Qualebs arms without waking him, but I was unsuccessful. In fact, Qualeb pulled me even closer to him.
I stayed like that, not sure what to do, just staring at the ceiling, when I heard a bell or something.

Qualeb awoke with a startle. He looked confused of where he was. He looked so cute with his hair out of place and his bandage had also come a bit loose. He smiled at me when he realised where he was. I couldn't help myself and I gave him a kiss. He tightened his hold on me and deepened the kiss. The bell sound rang again and Qualeb moved back and sat up.

"Oh gosh! That's Emma!! I overslept." He quickly got out of the bed and gave me a quick kiss on the forehead before he asked: "I hope you slept today. Can you get ready while I greet Emma and my sister?"

I nodded, embarrassed and unsure of what to say. He smiled and gave me a quick kiss on the lips and whispered: "I think I could get used to waking up like this." He winked at me before he left, making me blush even more.

I got ready quickly. I wasn't sure why but I was feeling really nervous about meeting Emma. It had been like a dream, just us two in a little bubble. Emma meant a lot to Qualeb and I was scared that she might not like me and then Qualeb would ... I wasn't sure what he would do and before I had time to change my mind I went downstairs. Qualeb heard me coming and rushed to get me. He seemed unsure of what to do, because I could see two small feet dangling from the sofa, watching us. So I gave Qualeb my hand and held on to it, supporting me to come down the stairs.

Emma jumped out from the sofa and came over and hugged my legs. She was a small little doll, with pretty brown curls and beautiful green eyes like her uncle. She reminded me a lot of Qualeb. I turned to Qualeb and smiled: " Help Qualeb. I have been taken by a beautiful princess."

Emma giggled and ran to a lady sitting on the sofa. I was so engrossed with Emma, that I first didn't notice her. The lady was absolutely stunning. She was wearing a smart white dress and some to die for heels.
Qualeb took my hand and introduced us to each other. The lady was his sister-in-law Rose. She was so proper and polite, literally a lady. She smiled at me and briefly looked at our intervined hands and came over and gave me a hug.
She then said to me: "It is so nice to meet you. Unfortunately, we can only stay til lunch because Emma has an appointment with the doctor."
We all went into the kitchen and had breakfast. It was so nice to have breakfast with such a big group. Back at home, it used to be just me by myself. I only had a couple of days left for my doctors appointment and I'm not sure what will happen after. I really wasn't sure on what to do when I had to leave, leave this amazing guy and this beautiful house. I had to stop thinking that as I still had a few days left and it was too painful to think about.
I also had to listen to Emma. She was eargerly talking about how she had seen a unicorn in the forest once and that she wanted to only show me. I thought about how you read or watch movies about men who are so sweet and romantic. I had always yearned for someone like that. I could not believe that I had found such a man. If those kind of men exist maybe unicorns were also true.
Rose and Emma insisted on helping me make a potato salad and chicken fillets for lunch. Emma was so excited to get the potatoes and put them in bowl to wash, I just kept laughing.
Qualeb was sitting on a stool and I caught him watching us. He saw me look at him and he gave me a sweet and grateful smile.
Emma and Rose went to pick some flowers for the table while I set the table. The minute they left, Qualeb hugged me from behind and gave me quick kiss on the cheek. He had turned into such a sweet little guy. I on the other hand, wasn't satisfied with just a quick peck and turned around to be in his arms and to kiss him on the lips. I felt an insatiable need for this man.
He stopped the kiss and moved back, just as Emma and Rose came in. Qualeb came to stand by my side and Rose gave him a warm and knowing look.

After lunch, Emma wanted to take a quick walk with Qualeb before they had to go. Rose and I sat down in the living room. I felt a bit uncomfortable, not sure on what to say. Rose smiled at me and told me: "I'm so happy to see that Qualeb has found someone he cares about. After his accident, he wouldn't let anyone near him. He saved his niece from a far worse damage. You can't even see that she had been in a fire, which is all thanks to Qualeb, but he got scared so much, we were scared he won't find anyone. Please look after him."

Before I had the chance to reply, Emma ran in like a storm and jumped on me. She handed me a gorgeous looking flower in a deep red colour. She wanted to play Uno with all of us so we did for a while. I kept peeking at Qualeb and caught him more than a few times watching me. His eyes were twinkling and sparkling, as he looked so happy and content.
When it was time for Emma to leave, she made a bit of a fuss as she didn't want to leave. I remembered that Qualeb said that she usually stayed the weekend. It made me wonder whether she didn't stay because of me. I felt worse then. As we were saying good bye, Emma gave me a kiss on the cheek and ran ahead of her mum. She made me promise her that I would go with her to the forest, so that she could show me the unicorn. Rose chuckled and then gave Qualeb and me each a hug and then left.
I wasn't sure why but Emma really got attached to me and she really liked me. She was an amazing little girl. She was very polite but also very innocent and enthusiastic.

As we closed the door and went into the sitting room, Qualeb went into the kitchen quickly and came back with a bunch of red roses. He gave them to me and told me: "Emma really liked you. She kept taking about you while we went walking. She might seem like a lot but she really means well. I hope it wasn't too much and too overwhelming for you?"

He looked at me bit concerned. Qualeb always was thinking of others. I put the pretty roses on the coffee table and moved over to this amazing man to kiss him. I had been waiting to kiss him again since our last kiss. I can't get enough of him.
We slowly moved to the sofa and continued to kiss. He was so gentle, even when he kissed me. I twined my fingers in his hair and enjoyed his essence. This man was right for me. This man was made for me. This man is the one for me. I could quickly and surely feel myself falling in love with this man. This man that is my world.
