Inside the secret room, I feel around for a chord hanging from the ceiling. When I pull it, suddenly the space lights up. I push the shelf back into place from inside.
"What is this place?" Castiel asks, his deep-seated Sagittarius curiosity getting the better of him. I only discovered the room a few weeks ago.
"I'm not entirely sure what it was supposed to be. I discovered it when I uh--tripped and fell down the stairs about a month ago. I fell right into the secret door." I explain as shamelessly as possible. "Originally, it was dusty and unfurnished. So I cleaned it up."
"You did all this?" He gestures at the all white furnishings: the carpet, a sofa, an arm chair, and a desk in the corner.
"Well, I had some help. You remember the girl from the garden last night?" His mouth curls into a grin.
"Yeah. I remember. I meant to ask, was that a servant girl?"
"Yeah, but she's not just some servant girl. I've known her all my life. She's my best friend." I step further into the room and fall back onto the sofa.
"Well that explains why she used your first name. What's her sign?"
"Sagittarius."
"I see. In that case, I'm assuming she had a lot of questions as to what we were doing out in the garden while the party was still going on." He reaches a hand out and I grab it to pull myself up off the soft couch.
"Believe me, she did." I say, with a little laugh. "Don't worry. I assured her that it was pure coincidence that we wound up in the same place--"
"Was it, though?" The prince cuts in. His eyes hide a small spark of something, though i'm not sure what it is.
"What are you saying?" I ask, stepping in closer to him.
"Well, maybe--and this is just a hunch--but maybe, the sunset was not the only beautiful thing I was hoping to find out there last night." He stands so close my knees grow weak like when he and I danced the night before. "And maybe," He whispers, placing a hand under my chin. "Maybe you're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."
With no chance of interruption this time, his lips find mine and my knees give out. Castiel holds me tight with his hands on my hips, so I won't collapse. Kissing him is nothing like I imagined. It's not soft or delicate. It's intimate and dedicated and even better then I'd expected. The kiss sends electricity through my soul. It's no wonder Gemini and Libra are compatible. His instinct to take the lead compliments my tendency to fall back. Where I'm indecisive, he takes action.
I finally regain control of myself and I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling our bodies closer together. Suddenly, I feel like I'm falling and the next thing I know, I'm laying back on the sofa with Castiel leaning over me, his hands placed on either side of my head to keep him from crushing me, and our hearts pounding in sync. My hands find their way into his hair and his breath hitches as I tangle my fingers in his locks. I've never felt anything like this before. Being here, alone with the man I've yet to marry. Things couldn't have worked out better. The Zodiac really is flawless.
The lip lock finally breaks when the two of us stop to catch our breath. He rests his forehead on mine and I open my eyes to find his still closed. There's a pause where neither of us says a word.
"Prince--" I go to speak, not entirely knowing what to say. He pulls away and sits on the floor in front of the couch. He chuckles and avoids turning to face me.
"After that, I think it's only appropriate for you to call me by my first name, don't you?"
"Castiel," I whisper and turn onto my side so his head is essentially in front of my stomach.
