Maria Mahachak is the queen of Eskijan, who rules from her castle in the capitol city of Zostra. For thousands of years, Eskijan and the surrounding nations have lived in peace and harmony, but in the last fifty years, tensions have been building up between Eskijan and Zochar, The Kingdom of Dragons. As Maria nears her 25th birthday, war seems inevitable, and she must make every sacrifice in order to save her people.

I've always had a fascination with natural selection, so I've been loving the game Niche. But as I always do, I began forming a narrative around the game. And then I came up with this challenge! I'll have the rules as a chapter so you can do this too if you'd like. But the main thing is. . . I write a little journal entry for each day, from the perspective of the current matriarch! Transcendence follows the story of Nix, the Sunborne, a 'Child of the Immortal' and her trials and tribulations on the road to becoming the hero the universe needs since her ancestor's disappearance. Raised in slavery to participate in gladiatorial games run by a plutocratic system masquerading as a confederation to continually test her growing powers, she is infused with the personality construct of the ancient hero to assist in her training by her physician, tutor, and friend Arandir Putarcic. With the odd triumvirate of Nix's growing power, the mental trauma inflicted upon her over her years in the Central Trade Authority, and the sliver of awareness hidden within Alenna, came the birth of something without even the saving grace of basic humanity to redeem it: The Voidwalker. A dark twin of Nix, the Voidwalker seeks her own path to life and the eventual death of the Sunborne. Inspired by the song Transcendence by the Danish power metal band Pyramaze, featuring Brittney 'Slayes' Hayes of Canadian power metal band Unleash The Archers, this story builds on the worlds established in the Demons of the AstroWaste (2011), Apex (2017) and Abyss (2020) concept albums released by Unleash The Archers. That being the case, all concepts and characters from the aforementioned music were created and are owned by Brittney Hayes, to whom I would offer my deepest apologies for the liberties I've taken, as well as my deepest gratitude for the stories and music that I love.

An apology to women everywhere

The Piskies, an ancient race of cold and calculating individuals who keep their reserve in all situations. With their queen, Idonia, they keep an unsteady peace with the superficial Pixies, but one wrong move from the most insignificant individuals could send this armistice crumbling down. The Piskies are as ruthless and cruel as ice when it comes to pride and past injuries, and some are just looking for an opportunity to carry out their long-held vendettas. The Pixies, a just-as-ancient race of light-hearted, sophomoric creatures who hide almost nothing about themselves and their lives. Their queen, Rosie, helps keep the peace with the cruel and cold Piskies, but one senseless mistake on anyone's part could send her kingdom into a war they may not win. The Pixies are slow-witted, but most definitely not peaceful when it comes to slights, and many resent the Queen's peace with the enemy, and are always searching for means of retribution. With the constant threat of blood hanging at all hours of the day, how will these two queens, so different from one another, keep the balance in their matriarchies. Will it even be possible to live in peace with each other, or will the world have to choose sides as these two ultimate and ancient powers take up arms.

This story is dedicated to my Main Original Character and spirit guide, Fern (formerly known as FernKiss). She has walked by my side ever since I can remember, only then I didn't realise my spiritual ties with her. This was originally what I could remember of the first story I wrote about her, only sadly I could not remember enough of it to piece together her origin story. Out with the old, and in with her new beginning. Fern, my guide and companion in this life, re-imagined through a mind more open than ever before to her paws along the Earth. -Classed as Spiritual because this is based on how I perceive her through my soul.-
