Mai's pov:

I woke up in a stone cell. My whole body hurts like some madness I can't even explain.

I reach my hand to the back of my head. I wince and pull my hand back. It's covered in blood. I must have hit a rock or something.

I stand up and look around. The cell is small and stone. I don't recognize the area I'm in.

My phone vibrates, drawing my attention. I get it out of my pocket and open it up. I have several missed calls and unread texts.

Everyone in cram school has called me many times. The same for the texts. Though, I notice I have the most of them from Yukio.

Text or call? Both!

I text everyone I'm fine, no bodily harm. And that I have no idea where I'm at. Then I call Yukio.

Me: Hello?

Yukio: Mai! Are you alright?

Me: Yeah, just some scrapes. *looks down at left arm and legs, hands shaking a bit.*

Yukio: Do you know where you're at? We've looked everywhere.

Me: Not really. I'm in a stone cell and I can't see much else, just stone.

Yukio: Alright. I'll be there as soon as I can.

Me: I hope so, this place is creepy and cold.

Yukio: I'll talk to Mephisto, see if he has any idea where that is. I promise, I'll come get you.

Me: You better keep good on that promise.

Yukio: I will. I got to go, I'll see you soon.

I sat down in the back of the cell, curled up. This is boring, I'm cold, I want to be at home, and I miss Amaimon. I'm a bit scared and nervous.

I can't really comprehend what Yukio meant. He sounded worried, yet determined. Then he made a promise he may not be able to keep. This is just my luck. I like a boy and I may die or somethin. Just lovely......

Yukio's pov:

"Damn it!" I shout as I slam my fist down on my desk.

"Whoa, Yukio, are you alright?" Rin asks me.

"Not exactly, Rin." I answer, laying my head on my desk.

"Dude, you need to keep calm. She'll be fine. Mai said she was fine." He said.

"Yeah, but you didn't hear how scared she sounded." I stated.

"No I didn't. But man, you promised her! Now get off your mopey ass and do somethin about it!" Rin scolded me.

I stood up quickly. Then turned to him.

"I'm not mopey." I declared and left.

I've been out all night long looking for Mai. Rin just doesn't understand. She was right there, with me. I'm her instructor, I am to protect my students.

No. It's more than that. Mai's smart, top of the class. She's stunning too. I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she is from the first time she walked through the door. I think I like her...

I found my way to Mephisto's office. I go right in.

"Ah, Romeo. Something I can help you with?" Mephisto asks.

"Romeo? Never mind. I need to know if you know of a place made of stone, that may have stone cells?" I said.

"Stone. Stone." He said taping his chin.
