Mare

Today was the day where I forever pledged myself to Cal. I stood very still as Gisa zipped up my dress. It's only been a little while since everything has gone back to normal. Well, the new normal. I agreed with the Scarlet Guard on a new system. Every 5 years everyone would get to vote on their government, a red leader, and a silver leader as well as an equal member of each blood type on the council. Abilities were forbidden to be used while with the council. We had our first elections just a few weeks ago. Farley won red party leader, and Iris actually became the silver party leader. Everything was going well. Cal and I have power, even though we aren't on the council. We help with whatever we want to help with, if we don't care, we don't help. Today was all about the 2 of us. Gisa was my maid of honor and Farley another bridesmaid. Clara was my flowergirl, and Bree and Tramy were Cal's best men. Gisa smiles at me,

"You ready?" she asks. My cheeks blush,

"I'm nervous," I say sheepishly.

"Don't be, you look beautiful," she says handing me a bouquet and one for herself. My bouquet was filled with purple flower to represent my purple lightning. I bite my lip and get ready for the night ahead.

The music starts to play and Clara runs out throwing purple flowers everywhere. I swallow trying to keep back the tears, after everything that's happened we were here today on our wedding day. Gisa and Farley go out now and I step forward towards the bridge. Cal and I were having an outdoor wedding. I was wearing a beautiful white ball gown, and I was about to get married to the man of my dreams. I take a step onto the bridge as all the guests stand up for me. My Dad stand next to me and grabs my arm and loops it around his. He leads my down the aisle to wear Cal, Bree, and Tramy stand on one side, and Gisa, Farley, and Clara stand on the other. I take my place next to Gisa across from Cal. Everyone sits down and the priest starts his vows. The tears start streaming down my face just like when he proposed. He comes to the vows and takes a deep breath,

"Mare, I have loved you from the day you pickit pocketed me in the stilts and spilled all about your life to me," he starts, "we have been through so much, but the whole time I've always known I could trust you, and I knew that I would have you beside me for the rest of my life. I love you and I will love you forever." I smile as I cry and start my own vows,

"Cal when I first met you all I could think about is that you were the crown prince, but you are more than that. You were Cal, the caring, smart boy who loved me. The night we danced together and shared our first kiss was one of the best nights in my life. I have always known that I have wanted to be with you. You have stood by me through my injuries, my problems, and even saved me several times. I love you more than words can even say," I finish. The priest starts talking again as I stare at Cal, my face stained with tears.

"Do you Tiberias Calore the seventh take Mare Molly Barrow to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?" he asks. Cal was on the edge of tears now too,

"I do," he says, laughing away the tears.

"Do you Mare Molly Barrow take Tiberias Calore the seventh to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?" he asks again this time directed at me. I sniffle away the tears before saying, almost whispering,

"I do." Everyone cheers as Cal and I share a kiss and exchange rings. His lips are warm on mine and I can't wait for our future. We move over into a field filled with tables and a party. Cal and I hand in hand. Tramy meets up with his silver girlfriend, Emmy. The music starts blaring and I get ready to throw my bouquet. The unmarried girls gather behind me. I fling the flowers up into the air and turn around to watch them and right in Emmy's hands. My eyes dart to Tramy as I share a smile with him. Cal grabs me by the waist careful to avoid my scar as he dips me down and kisses me.

We dance and have fun all night. My friends and Cal's friends make speeches about us and tell stories. Some that Gisa had weren't the best I would choose to share with everyone, but after all it was my wedding I was supposed to be embarrassed. At the very end of the night Cal holds my waist as my send up a signal we've been practicing for a while. The sign is perfect my lightning surrounded by a whirlpool of fire. I smile and kiss him one more time before it disappears and the party continues for a long time.

When the party finishes late at night Cal and I go back to the limo to drive us to our newly bought home. It was huge with 5 bedrooms. When we arrive Cal pulls me into our room and onto our new bed and his arms find my dress and we do what your supposed to do to end off the wedding day.

We lie there in the morning giggling at all that has just happened.

"Mare," Cal breaths.

"Uh huh," I say looking at the skylight.

"We are married," he says grinning. I press my lips to his one more time grinning with him.
