Minnie replied later the next day, "Lily! I heard the cottage got attacked! Im so glad you're alright! Of course Ill come by and visit. Just tell me what to put in the Floo Network."

I went over to the nearest fireplace. "Hogwarts Minervas office!" I heard a gasp as a face appeared.

"Lily! Thank Merlin you're ok!" Minerva sighed.

"You can come through Minnie." I smiled

She stumbked through and gave me the biggest hug ever. "Oh Lily, is everyone ok?!"

"Yes Minnie, we are fine. James is feeding Harry lunch. No one was home when Voldemort struck. We found out who was betraying us." I said quickly.

"Who?"

"Peter."  James growled coming into the room. "Hello Minnie, its nice to see you."

"Peter Pettigrew? That Peter?" Minnie gasped.

"The very same Im afraid." I grimaced.

"I cant believe it!" Minnie continued.

"Neither could we. We had to leave the cottage location and move here for a while. We might actually just raise our son here. The wards are strong." James explained.

"Come on, Ill make tea for us." I lead Minnie into our kitchen as I waved my wand to make the water boil.

"So are the two of you going to finish your Mastarys?" Minnie asked sitting down.

"I am, I have a few spells I had invented that should be known. I might need your help though." I blushed.

"It would be an honor." Minnie smiled. "It shouldnt be too tricky, as Lady Potter, you are already in a constant spotlight."

"Yeah, I know. Anyway hows the teaching?" James asked coming into the room.

"Oh tiring as ever. Can you believe there is another band of meschief makers?! Names are Jenny and Aggie Smith."  Minnie sighed.

"First years I take it?" James smirked

Minnie shot James a glare. "Unfortunately yes."

I had to smother a laugh, it reminded me of my old school days. "Besides the Weasley twins, what about the other students?"

"No one is as bright as you Lily. You still hold the Brightest Witch title." Minnie grimned.

"Any new favorites?"

"None so far, Im afraid." Minnie replied.

"I heard you have a new teacher to your ranks. Who is it?" I asked eagerly.

"Actually, I never got to meet the new teacher yet. Albus just hired him last week. Hes always looking for a DADA teacher." Minnie sighed.

"That must be rough." James commented.

"It can be."

"Excuse me Minnie, but I must get to drawing. If we are staying here, I have to ward this house with the protection rune." I walked off to the front door of the house.

"Lily insits on drawing this protection rune outside the house. A mental superstition." James whispered.

"I heard that! James the Grimm isnt mental is it?" I yelled.

After an hour of drawing, I was finished. "Ah finished the rune. Minerva if you'll excuse me, I have to put Harry down for his nap."

"Of course Lily." Minnie answered as I picked up my son.

I laid Harry in his crib. "Lily! Minnie and I are going out to get some necessities!" James called out a bit later.

After they left, I redrew the protection rune in my blood over Harrys bedroom door and kissed it. This ensured in case anyone tried to harm me, very little damage would happen. The rune protects the one who drew it in their blood. Ny kiss ensured Harry would be protected by my love. The rune would make any harmful slell against my son, bounce off to the attacker.  I fell asleep in the rocking chair.

It was with a bang that woke me up. An intruder! I thought to myself.

"Bombarda!" A male voice yelled as I heard a loud thump.

I stooped down and looked into my son's eyes. "Harry, Mama loves you, Dada loves you. Harry. Be brave, be strong."

I only had kissed my sons forehead before the door flew off its hinges. "Voldemort." I said calmly.

"Stand aside!" He growled.

"No not Harry! Please not Harry!" I got up and shielded the crib.

"Ill give you one last chance, stand aside!" Voldemort hissed.

"No please not Harry! Have mercy!" I yelled refusing to move.

Voldemorts mouth curled up. He pointed his wand at me, "Avada Kedavara!"

The spell his me, but I wasnt dead, it only knocked me unconcious. Voldemort screamed in agony.  I could see and hear what was happening. He tried to kill Harry only this time, I saw Voldemort vanish.

Poor Harry was wailing for me. Thats when I blacked out.

*

"Thanks Minnie, its a big help." James dropped his bags when he saw the door had been blasted off.

"James whats- good Merlin!" Minnie gasped.

Numbly James picked his way through the room. He heard his son crying and rushed up to get him. Thats where devestation met his eye. He knew from his Auror training that the room had been splattered with the Killimg Curse.

"Lily!" James yelled picking up his dead wife. He kissed her lips one last time.

*

I honestly thought I went to heaven when James took my dead weight in his arms. He kissed my lips and I was so happy, my breath had returned.

"James!" I exclaimed.

"Lily?!" He asked in a strangled voice as if he couldnt believe what he was seeing.

"I told you the protection Rune would work!" I laughed getting up.

"My sweet know it all." James kissed me.

I turned towards our son. "Oh bloody Merlin!" I gasped at the lightning bolt scar on his forehead.

Suddenly Minnie came crashing through. "What is going on-" she stopped short.

"James we need to go to Gringotts and have them strengthen the wards around this house please!" I said urgently.

"Of course. Minnie, do you mind looking after Harry for 3 hours? We need the goblin's help to clense this room and to strengthen the wards around the perimeter of the grounds." James handed Harry over to Minnie.

"It would be my honor." Minnie beamed as she took Harry from my arms. She then vanished on the spot.

"Are you strong enough to disapperate?" James asked.

I glared at him. "You know by being near you Im already healing. Please tell me you didnt forget that?"

"No I didnt my dear. Come on." We twisted on the spot and left.
