Grace POV

It's lunch. I sit at a table, waiting for Kate and Caylie to show up. Man, this is going to be awkward.

Caylie spots me, and sits down. We sit there, quietly waiting for Kate to sit down.

When she does, I speak first. "So, um, about Friday"

"Yeah" says Caylie.

"I'm really sorry" says Kate. "I should have believed you."

"Yet you still date him?" I ask.

"He was being irresistible!" She protests.

"He blackmailed me!"

"He quoted the fault in our stars!"

"So?"

"That's exactly what Caylie said. You should forgive her. She was really heartbroken when she realized I was still dating Seth, and at how much she hurt you"

"I think Caylie can speak for herself!"

"She's right" Caylie says

"Really?" I say

"Really"

I hug her. I can forgive Caylie. She didn't really mean any harm, I guess.

"You forgive her. Now, can you forgive me?" says Kate.

"Should I?" I ask, staring at her sadly. "Do you think I should? Kate, your boyfriend blackmailed me, and you don't even seam to care!"

"You think I don't care? Well guess what? I do care. I did brake up with him. I just-so happened to get back together with him"

"Exactly" I say. "You got back together with him."

"I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry that you have something over my boyfriend"

"You make it sound like nonsense when you say it like that."

"Maybe it is nonsense"

"Excuse me?"

"He thought it was a joke"

"A joke?" I laugh. "Since when is breaking the law a joke?"

"Fine" she says, standing up. "You won't forgive me. Fine. I'll just go then"

"You do that"

She leaves. I sigh.

"Grace" says Caylie. "Do you think that was kind of over-the-top?"

"No" I say

"I feel bad for her"

"What?"

"She keeps finding herself in situations without anyone to talk to."

"That's because she keeps putting herself in stupid situations"
