I looked and saw my best friend being taken care of by the paramedics. I was tearing up and then tears rolled down my face. Did someone shoot her?
"What happened!" I cried out my hand covering ny mouth.
Jayson tried pushing through the police officers but they were too strong and he was too weak at the moment. I was shaking.
"Sir we cannot let you pass, she is in a very critical condition. You can wait to hear something from the hospital." His deep voice said empathetical.
Jayson pulled me by my arm really hard after seeing Lydia with the paramedics. I was honestly scared.
"What are you doing?" I asked having my mind completly focusing on my best friend being hurt. What the fuck was she doing being rolled into the ambulance.
Jayson stayed silent and his eyes were very red. He had to be as scared as I was.
He put his hand in mine while we walked towards the front of the school. Another 3 police cars were up ahead. From the back window I saw a teen sitting. All I saw was the back of his blonde hair.
When we got closer I noticed he was someone from our school and police were standing in front of the car.
Jayson ran ahead before and let go of my hand."YOU DID THIS! FUCK YOU, YOU DID THIS. IM GOING TO FUCK YOU UP." Jayson was running towards the car reaching out to open the door. Officers quickly ran and tackled Jayson onto the ground.
"Im good, I'm good!" The officers got off of him and he brushed himself off. I can't believe what just happened. I reached for Jaysons hand and tried to speed up our pace to the parking lot.
We got into the car and rushed to the hospital a fast as we could. My heart was beating so fast. I hope she's okay.
My heart broke when I saw a tear roll down Jayson's cheek. Someone who i've always looked up to, some on I thought was the strongest man in the world is crying.
That made me so much more saddened about the whole situation.
Without a thought tears started rolling down my face and I couldn't help but let out a tiny sob. "Hey don't worry." Jayson said as he took his hand off the steering wheel and rubbed his hand on my thigh.
I lost my breath.
Butterflies sparked inside of my stomach and I turned my head to the window to try and hide my blushing.
We pulled into the hospital and Jayson took a big breath before he got out of his car.
When he left I did the same.
I ran up to catch up with him and he went through the entrance doors to the emergancy room.
He walked up to the front desk and said "My sister... Lydia.. she's here, I need to see her."
Without even looking up the nurse behind the desk said
"Please take a seat."
"No.. you don't understand I need to see her." Jayson said, voice shaking.
"Sir you don't understand that you need to take a seat and not tell me how to do my job." She said, still not looking up.
"First of all I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job I'm just.. ugh.. trying to tell you that I need to see my sister and that's what I'm going to do with your premission or not."
"You know what! I am not in the mood so you can-"
"Excuse me Samantha! This is not how we communicate with the visitors." Another nurse came from behind the wall and scolded Samantha. "I think it's time for your break. Go."
Samantha rolled her eyes and huffed while walking out.
"I am so sorry you had to deal with her. Sometimes she can be extremely rude. I've been requesting her to be transferred onto a different floor for the longest time." She chuckled slightly. "Anyways what can I help with?"
"I need to see my sister... please." Jayson said softly. The nurse carefully watched the expressions on our faces before nodding.
"What's her name?" She asked.
"Lydia Adams." She clicked around on her desktop computer thoroughly until she looked back up at us.
"She's lost a lot of blood and is in critical stage. I'm afraid you aren't allowed to see her yet but I promise I'll see what I can do." She seemed genuinely sorry but I noticed her words didn't see well with Jayson. I grabbed his hand and held it tightly before he could explode.
He bit his tongue and I took over. "Thank you Ms." I smiled.
"Are your guys parents on your way?"
"Yes, thank you." Me and Jayson walked towards an empty seat.
I gazed at Jayson. He really looked broken and I couldn't do anything but sit back and hope that both Lydia and Jayson would be okay.
"They're doing everything they can to make sure Lydia is going to be okay. It's going to be fine let's just relax." I broke the silence.
But I, myself wasn't so sure everything would be okay.
"She needs to be okay. She has to be. They can't let her down, she doesn't deserve that." He said sternly with a deep voice.
"I know and they won't let her down. Im certain. I'm going to go to the cafeteria and get us some drinks and a sandwich. Sounds good?" He looked up at me and smiled barely noticeable and I felt like I was finally doing something right.
The last thing thing I'd said to my bestfriend was a petty insult. She was so pissed at me and she had every right to be. I should've never said what I had said, and now it might end up the last thing we talk about.
My eyes are all watery and I don't even notice I'm next in line. My train of thought is pulled back into reality by the cashiers voice.
"Um hello? What can I help you? Hello!"
