Daniels POV:

I found the guy who tried to kill Sophia. His trail was easy to track down. He sits in a small pub in Kazan, Russia, by himself. He watches a soccer game on the screen, and drinks a shot of alcohol. He looks to be around his late 40's, with dark-grey hair and deep-set eyes. The place has rows of different bottles of liquor stacked against the walls. It wasn't too busy right now.

I slowly walk towards where he's sitting, and when I'm behind him, I grab him and throw him to the ground. His eyes widen, and he gets up and tries to scramble away but I catch up to him and throw a punch at his face. He staggers back, his nose starting to bleed.

"Please, don't kill me" He stammers out in Russian.

One of the bartenders yells and waves their hands in the air. He tells us to take it outside.

"You're not so brave now without a gun to protect you, huh? Get your ass outside." He starts to sprint out and towards his car but I stop time, grab his body and put him over my shoulders as he's immobile. Then I take him to a deserted back alleyway at the edge of the city. I put his body down and let time tick again. He looks around, in shock.

"What?!" He then looks up to me, and sees me seethe with anger. "I was contacted by my boss to follow the girl and make her 'disappear'. He would have killed me in the spot if I wouldn't have done it."

"That doesn't make it right to take an innocent life!" I roar. "So, who's this boss of yours?"

"I can't..." I get ready to punch him again but he yells for me to stop. He then looks up to me, eyes stricken with pain. "His name is Alexander, he's an oligarch who works close with the government. I don't know what's going on... I just did what he told me to do."

"Tell me where he's at."

I get his location from him, and leave the man in the street.

I go there immediately. He lives in a village in Komarovo, in a cream colored mansion near a dense forest. He's in his garden, in the back of the home, sitting at a table with another man. I inch nearer to listen but not so much so where they will be able to see me.

"Tell Loraine that I need his help in breaching a social network online so that I can review demographics, and find the easiest manipulable. Since, you know I'm planning on running for governor. And my opponent gives me good competition."

"Of course, sir. Lorraine has also told me to inform you that he has cracked into the code of a nuclear facility in Israel and that their machines are down. They don't know what happened, it's all over their local news."

He smiles "good, good."

I know Ivy used her words to sway his thoughts. Lately the government there has released a lot of more propaganda on television and it is totally normalizing atrocious acts committed by top officials. It's fooling those who get fed it and Ivy and her twin are propagating this virus into the global mind.

Ivy, you bitch.

I can't believe I loved her. She used to be so kind though.

We met at the academy, which is up in the sky in a a large abstract glass building. It has a large arena, that floats next to it. The council lives there and our guides trained us there. We would we go at least 3 times a week for some hours. And every time we would see each other she would give me cakes and cookies that she made at home. She was always giggling, ever so happy.

I loved to kiss her full lips, and hold her soft body against mine. She was perfect to me... But, then something changed in her. She didn't really want to be a part of the team, for she saw a malevolent force spreading across the earth but instead of quenching it, she's decided to guide it forward. She lost hope in humanity.

I never will fall like she did. Never.

The men wrap up their meeting and Alexander stays at the table while the other man drives off. I aim my gun, and then pull the trigger, it's silent. He goes down. I make sure to take his body inside and make it look like a suicide. Leaving not even a drop of evidence behind, or else the media will swoon over the story. We can't have too much attention come to this just yet.

...

I head back to our home in Nicaragua, and find Janet on the couch petting Sophia's cat and watching Game of Thrones. She looks up at me and asks where I've been. I tell her what occurred in Russia, and she frowns.

"Their influence is expanding. This isn't good."

"No shit... But, we'll figure this out." I then look around, I don't see Sophia or Ethan.

"Where's everyone at?" I ask.

"Well, I saw them walk down the trail out back. They haven't come back up." And with a sly smile, "Why do you care?"

"I don't"

She gets up, turns the TV off then heads to her room. "Whatever you say." Then she tells me goodnight before closing the door.

I go outside and down the path. I'm only going to check on them. See if they're alright.

After a few minutes, I see them, sleeping peacefully together on the hammock. She looked beautiful, with her long hair spilled over her shoulder. I look towards Ethan, and my heart clenches. He's lucky.

I shake my head, and run a hand through my hair. I need to leave, and get my mind off of things.

...

I stopped at a club in Manhattan. I sway with the vibrating music. A cloud of smoke covers our feet, and long multi colored lights zoom through the whole building. I grind next to a girl. She puts her hands around my neck, and then comes closer for a kiss. I bite her lower lip, and she smiles.

Out of nowhere, the music stops, and I look towards the DJ. He takes off his earphones, and puts them down. Ivy and Lorraine are behind him. Then all the lights begin to flicker on and off and some screams can be heard. Shit, shit, shit.

Ivy looks through the crowd until she spots me and she smiles sweetly. Then I see the eyes of the girl I was dancing with turn bright grey, and she reaches into her pocket and takes out a small pocket knife. She tries to stab me but I push her body back hard. Then I walk closer to the stage, and stop time but Ivy and Loraine are still in motion. Their energy has deflected my power.

"Hello, love" She tells me sweetly. "It's been a while since I've seen you."

"Why did you come here?" I ask.

"You killed one of my favorite pawns, you see. So I'm here for revenge."

"Fuck you." I tell her as I charge towards her, but she disappears, and reappears behind me. I fall to the ground as she kicks my feet under me. And then Loraine comes up to me and quickly injects my body, it numbs me. I can't move. He lets out a little machine that begins to crawls onto my stomach. It digs. And deeper it goes. I cry out in agony. But, just before I was about to pass out, it pops out and goes back into Lorraine's hand.

"What the hell was that?"

"A tracker" He says, with a stoic face. Then I see both of them, walk away, like nothing. I want to grab her throat and thrash her, but I don't get that pleasure. I release time. Then, I reach into my pocket, get my phone out and call Janet to come get me.

I hear yelling, and running feet as I go unconscious.
