Everything they were doing proved to be futile. Despite how she ripped her clothes into two the morning to the engagement and had thrown many tantrums, the engagement had taken place. Irrespective of what destruction she had caused, Joshua still slipped that ring into her hand. The party was big, a typical high-class party. Her grandfather had paid so much to get everything done. It was still trending on instagram. Many people were congratulating her and her soon to be husband. Even though it's already over a week since she got engaged, her engagement, the pictures were everywhere. Good wishes kept coming in.

Lola hated it. She disliked everything about it. Their engagement ring was a gift from her grandfather. It was the first time no one is excited about a wedding in the Kola-Daisi's household. Her mother and she had tried to cancel the wedding. The blood group and genotype tests they had done were good. She was AC and he was AA but they had changed the result and said she was AC and he was AS. No one would want a child with sickle cell anaemia but Damijo won't believe the result.

Damijo had said they should redo it. There must have been a mistake. This time, he supervised it and the correct one was gotten. Cynthia had said it could be wrong that they should repeat it. The same came out and at that moment, she knew she was doomed for life. What sort of fate was this?

Lola trembled, she sat at the end of the bed, her hair nothing but a bird nest on her face. Everything drove her crazy. She was losing her mind. One of her nightmares was coming true. She does not want any of it. Lola got to her feet. This can't happen to her. She moved, her body swinging left and right. The engagement ring was down inside the soak away. She flushed it. She can't wear something that gives her sorrow.

Her heart constricted. She felt the tremor that tingled through her. Anger spiked in her. The feeling of destruction came. Everyone was going mad. Why is no one trying to stop it as much as she and her mother are trying to? Her grandmother seemed so okay with it even after she had been fooled. Everyone had been fooled. This man had played with them and manipulated her into agreeing to marry someone. This is not right! Nothing feels right! Her hand trembled. Her thoughts drove her mad. When a roar left her lips, her first attack was at her chair which she threw at the chandelier that dangled from the ceiling.

Cynthia rushed out of her room, Kenny behind her. She was on phone with the principal of her school in Yola when Kenny had rushed into the room to break the news about Lola. She left the phone and had hurried out. The loud crash could be heard. Cynthia's heart jumped in her chest. What's happening again? She grew more worried, fear absorbing her when she heard Lola's scream and another smash.

"Lola! Open the door!" Miracle rumbled, trying to push the door open with two security men. Tenny stood behind her brother and the security men who tried to break the door. Together, the three men would kick the door which refused to open.

"What's happening to her again?" Cynthia panicked.

"Mummy!" Miracle wheezed, sending a hard strike against the door. "She is not opening the door"

"Lola" Cynthia shouted. "My dear" she shook, every part of her going weak at an event that repeated itself. "Please open the door" The sound of some items breaking came through the closed door. Cynthia heart contracted, knocking any possibility of air for a while. "Lola!" she shouted as the men tried bringing the door down.

Around them were the maids who were so keen about knowing what's happening. Kenny, Tenny, Samson and Sarah stood around them, watching everything happening with shuddering minds. Mofe was nowhere to be found.

Tears swam into Cynthia's eyes. This can't be happening again. Her daughter can't have this again. What sort of thing is this? She played with her fingers, her mother heart going weak. She tried holding back the tears that fought to be free but one bead fell on her cheeks that had gone red in seconds.
