Two Steps Behind

As I read your letter I realized I was never alone.
Physically maybe, but in my heart you're always there.
I stand facing the vast ocean and look up at the blue sky.
I imagine that you are looking down at me smiling.
Even though we're worlds apart every beating of my heart makes me feel so close to you.

Though it sadden me to think that I'll be living this world alone for a while.
I know that you're waiting for me there.
I will create memories that I would tell you when we meet again.
I will be able to smile with you again just like before.
But for now, be with me as I walk this journey of my life.

I don't want to say goodbye nor force myself to forget you so I could move on.
I can still live in this world filled with your memories with me.
I don't need to be sad cause I know you are there.
Just like what you said in your letter.

"Whatever happens or whatever you do, I'll always be two steps behind you."

So instead of being sad, it gives me hope to be well and be happy again.
Be a better person just like you wanted.
I'll always love you and my heart miss you so much.
Till we meet again my love.
