Finishing up his final song, hearing the crowd roar. Grayson smiled- letting the warm sweat drip down his face as he stared out into the audience. This is what made him happy, this is what made him appreciate all he'd done to get to this very spot.
"I love you guys." He spoke into the microphone, panting heavily, gazing at all the happy faces.
'I love you too's' were heard from left and right.
"Thank you for coming out." He spoke again, this time happier then the first, "This is my hometown, and I'm happy that i got to perform here. This town is what made me. Good night, Jersey."
The lights then shut off, giving Grayson the cue to exit stage. He ran off, grabbing a towel to wipe the sweat from his face.
"Baby, you did amazing." His girlfriend, Lily exclaimed, who happened to be a famous actress on a hit tv show, 'rocked'.
He lightly kissed her cheek, "It's not over yet." He said, referring to the meet and greet section of it all.
All in all, this was his favorite part. He loved meeting people, hearing their stories, and how they'd impacted his life. It gave him a feeling he couldn't explain. He just knew he didn't want that feeling to stop.
Carrying onto the meet and greet, Grayson conversed with everyone, making sure they all got the experience they'd hoped for. Pictures after pictures, autographs after autographs, every time better than the last.
Finishing off a signing of someones notebook, he turns around to acknowledge the next person in line.
He looks to his side, having to do a double take. So shocked, he took a triple take just to make sure what he was seeing was real.
"Ellie." He said, not knowing what much else to say.
Ellie smiled, teeth as straight and white as ever.
Ellie.
Grayson's first love, the girl that pushed him to follow his dreams, be passionate and take what he wanted. Most importantly, she was his best friend.
"Oh my god- come here." He said indulging her into a huge hug.
She lightly laughed, meeting his eyes, "Hi, rockstar."
"What are you doing here?" He asked, with a big smile plastered on his face.
"Um, Grayson Dolan is touring in my city. You thought I'd miss this once in a lifetime opportunity?" She exaggerated. Grayson smiled, noticing her witty spark was still there- not even realizing how much he'd missed it.
"I cant believe you're here right now." He blurt, looking her up and down, coming to the realization that she was standing right there, front and center.
"Believe it, dream boat." She said, calling him a name she hadn't used since he first realized he wanted to sing.
At first it was just a dream, he didn't expect to make it big. Ellie didn't either, but that didn't stop her from pushing him. She wanted him to try. Because to her- if you don't try then nothing will ever become a reality.
"How are you?" He asked, "It's been what- two years?"
She nodded, "And counting."
Ellie looked up at him with a cheeky smile, "Aw, gray." She said, instantly hugging him again.
She'd been looking forward to seeing him for months. Ever since she heard he was coming to jersey, she was the first to buy tickets. She'd rehearsed how the entire night was going to go, but seeing him live and in person required no script.
It was Grayson after all, the same guy who she once felt safest with, most happiest with, and comfortable with. Her best friend and first love all warped into one.
"I missed you so much." She whispered into his shirt.
He squeezed her tighter, "Not as much as i missed you."
They released the hug and Ellie lightly smiled up, "Wow, all your fans probably hate me for taking up so much of your time. Picture?"
Grayson nodded, grabbing a hand onto her waist, as he pulled her closer. They both looked into the camera smiling- both feeling happier then they had been in a long time.
Ellie clutched her bag straps, lightly biting her lip, "The rest are yours." She smiled, "See you later, dream boat."
Grayson snickered at the name, "Bye, Ellie."
As she walked off on her tip toes, as she'd always walked for as long as he can remember- a feeling overcame him that he'd never felt at meet and greets.
He was sad.
Was he going to see her again? Could he see her again? And if he could, how long would it take?
His schedule was crazy. After the meet and greet, it'd be late- time to go to sleep and rest up for the next day. He had a show in New York, they'd be hitting the road first thing in the morning.
Was that the last time he'd been able to see her for a while? For months- until his tour is over? And all he'd said was a bland, boring, 'bye, ellie'?
He couldn't wrap his mind around it. His head was all over the place. They'd been apart for two years- but through those two years missing her never stopped, just the longing feeling and emptiness disappeared because he'd been without it for so long. But now, he was just reminded about how special she was, and how much he missed the little things.
Grayson now wanted the meet and greet to be over. He didn't want to sign anymore autographs, take anymore pictures, and most of all, have anymore conversations. His heart wasn't in it anymore. He wanted to see Ellie.
